Let's build a world where data and AI turn possibilities into reality.
The Role
Own Snowflake’s multi-cloud capacity planning program across AWS, Azure, and GCP. Responsibilities include demand forecasting, resource modeling, procurement coordination, delivery tracking, governance, risk mitigation, infrastructure optimization, dashboards, and executive reporting. The role aligns Engineering, Infrastructure, Finance, and cloud providers while influencing cloud strategy, capacity investments, cost management, and resource allocation.
Summary Generated by Built In

At Snowflake, we are powering the era of the agentic enterprise. To usher in this new era, we seek AI-native thinkers across every function who are energized by the opportunity to reinvent how they work. You don’t just use tools; you possess an innate curiosity, treating AI as a high-trust collaborator that is core to how you solve problems and accelerate your impact. We look for low-ego individuals who thrive in dynamic and fast-moving environments and move with an experimental mindset — who rapidly test emerging capabilities to discover simpler, more powerful ways to deliver results. At Snowflake, your role isn't just to execute a function, but to help redefine the future of how work gets done.

As a Senior Technical Program Manager of Capacity Planning, you will:
  • Own the capacity planning program end-to-end — from demand forecasting and resource modeling to procurement coordination and delivery tracking across Snowflake's multi-cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP)

  • Drive cross-functional alignment between Engineering, Infrastructure, Finance, and Cloud Provider teams to ensure capacity meets projected growth, seasonal demand spikes, and new product launches

  • Build and improve forecasting models and frameworks that translate business growth signals, customer onboarding patterns, and workload trends into actionable infrastructure capacity plans

  • Establish governance and review cadences — own weekly/monthly capacity reviews with engineering leadership, surface risks and tradeoffs, and drive decisions on resource allocation and prioritization

  • Identify and mitigate capacity risks proactively — monitor utilization trends, flag bottlenecks, single points of failure, and lead constraint resolution before they become customer-impacting

  • Partner closely with engineering teams to understand workload characteristics, architecture changes, and new feature launches that affect capacity requirements

  • Drive efficiency and optimization programs — identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve utilization, and right-size infrastructure spend without compromising performance or availability

  • Develop dashboards, metrics, and reporting that give leadership real-time visibility into capacity health, spend trajectory, and delivery timelines

  • Influence infrastructure strategy by providing data-driven recommendations on cloud provider mix, reserved vs. on-demand strategy, and long-term capacity investments

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

Required:

  • 7+ years of experience in technical program management, infrastructure planning, capacity management, or a related discipline at a cloud-scale technology company

  • Demonstrated experience managing programs across multiple cloud providers (AWS, Azure, and/or GCP)

  • Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure concepts: compute, storage, networking, containerization, and resource orchestration

  • Experience with demand forecasting, resource modeling, and data-driven decision-making at scale

  • Proven ability to drive cross-functional programs spanning engineering, finance, and operations with VP/Director-level stakeholders

  • Excellent communication skills — ability to synthesize complex technical and financial data into clear executive-ready narratives

  • Strong program management fundamentals: dependency tracking, risk management, milestone governance, and stakeholder alignment

Preferred:

  • Experience with infrastructure capacity planning at hyperscale (10K+ node deployments or equivalent)

  • Familiarity with cloud cost management and FinOps principles

  • Experience with data platforms, data warehousing, or database infrastructure

  • Working knowledge of monitoring and observability tools (Grafana, Datadog, CloudWatch, or equivalent)

  • Background in building or improving automated capacity planning systems and tooling

  • Experience operating in a fast-growth, high-ambiguity environment where priorities shift quickly

SNOWFLAKE VALUES WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
  • Get It Done — You thrive on turning ambiguity into executable plans and delivering outcomes, not just status updates

  • Own It — You treat the capacity program as yours end-to-end, anticipating risks rather than reacting to them

  • Integrity Always — You make data-driven recommendations even when they're uncomfortable, and communicate tradeoffs transparently

  • Think Big — You don't just plan for today's scale — you build the frameworks that prepare Snowflake for 10x growth
