Role Overview

Curriculum Associates is seeking an AI Product Manager to lead the strategy, development, and delivery of AI-powered features across our digital learning products.

This role will lead large, complex AI-based projects with cross-functional implications and involvement, operating as a Technical Product Manager and Agile Product Owner. Brings deep domain expertise and a strategic lens to product definition, planning, and execution.

You will partner closely with engineering, data science,  design, and research teams to identify high-impact opportunities for AI, translate them into clear product requirements, and ensure solutions are ethical, effective, and aligned with our educational mission.


Essential duties/responsibilities: 

  • Oversee cross-team AI based initiatives or projects with many potential key features, driving product definition, successful delivery, and iteration. Lead discussions  to set initiative direction and scope/phasing.

  • Provide the product organization and initiative teams with broad product and implementation expertise across many areas of the platforms/products as well as deep and unique expertise in in AI-powered chatbot experiences..

  • Gather requirements through market research, data analysis, and stakeholder input. Partner with the UX Research team to plan user research in support of your projects.

  • Act as Agile Product Owner role with planning and in daily interactions with product, engineering, design, and QA. Work closely with engineering and QA leads.

  • Create and articulate detailed feature and user-story definitions, including acceptance criteria that map to CA technology platforms to ensure feasible designs.

  • Review work and represent product updates regularly with product leadership and to get stakeholder alignment at key milestones. Manage feedback and negotiate priorities and direction to achieve product and organizational objectives.

  • Effectively use product management and development tools and processes

  • Partner with field and go-to-market teams to provide written information and presentations about your initiatives and major features.


Required Job Skills and Abilities: 

  • Process: strong understanding of SDLC, Agile, and user-centered product definition.

  • Technical: solid understanding of architecture of relevant system and data structures; AI/ML concepts relevant to chatbot products; can understand trade-offs in tech choices with engineering; advanced skills in translating business and UX objectives into technical requirements.

  • Customer Focus: strong understanding of customers/users and market; proficient in research and data analysis, skilled in using customer insights to shape product  

  • Strategic Agility: can evaluate the value of creative ideas within the context of market dynamics/direction and propose innovative ideas across owned product areas.

  • Managing Vision and Purpose: ability to create a compelling vision or sense of purpose and clearly communicate it to the organization, providing guidance to initiative teams.

  • Communication Skills: strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with senior leaders; skilled presenter to small and large groups, on both simple and complex topics, with flexibility to adapt to and manage discussion for unexpected issues/topics.

  • Decision Quality & Problem Solving: skilled at leveraging deep technical knowledge, analytical rigor, and cross-functional collaboration to solve complex product challenges and drive high-impact decisions; able to synthesize data, user insights, and stakeholder input to deliver scalable, technically sound solutions that align with product and business goals.

  • Conflict Management: can quickly understand diverse views, establish trust, and negotiate solutions for initiative-related issues.

  • Organizational Agility: ability to understand organizational culture and processes to get things done through normal channels.

  • Building Effective Teams: Can organize people into teams, acknowledge wins and successes, and promote team continuity and cohesiveness.

  • Learning on the Fly: can independently and confidently learn and apply new things when faced with challenges and new/unfamiliar tasks and responsibilities; able to quickly understand the essence and the underlying structure of things.

  • Industry: strong knowledge of EdTech products and competitors. familiarity with AI-powered learning tools preferred.

Required Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor's/ Masters in Computer science / Eduction /MBA

  • 6+ years of experience in edtech or related software development, with experience working on globally distributed teams.. with at least 2 years working on AI-, data-, or ML-powered products.

  • Product management or development experience with another EdTech product preferred.
