Senior Technical Officer (AV / IT Support) (25260420)
The Office of Information Technology is looking for a suitable candidate to join its Audio Visual and IT support team in the Infrastructure Section. The appointee will be responsible for:
- Designing, planning and executing large-scale Audio Visual (AV) project for hybrid learning and teaching;
- Programming, installing, commissioning, maintaining, troubleshooting AV&PC (hardware and software) issues;
- Providing frontline user support related to IT and AV services;
- Handling user enquiries, service requests and incidents;
- Production and support of live, hybrid and virtual events, meetings and conferences;
- Preparing documentation such as user guide on IT and AV usage in teaching venues, and delivery of technical workshops and tuition; and
- Shift duty outside office hours on a roster basis.
Requirements:
- An advanced diploma in Computer Science/Information Technology or related disciplines with at least 5 years of relevant experience in AV and/or IT support;
- Knowledge of and experience in the following:
- End-user hardware and software for MS Windows, Mac OS and Office365;
- AV facilities in classrooms and meeting rooms;
- Zoom &MS Team video conference tools;
- Proven experience in the configuration and operation of a broad range of AV technologies, including AV over IP, Crestron system and digital signage;
- Knowledge in the installation of structured cabling systems and network equipment;
- Interpreting and understanding proposal documents, schematics and drawings; and
- Good command of spoken English and Cantonese; the ability to communicate in Putonghua would be an advantage.
The right candidate should be organised, helpful, creative, positive, a good team player and customer-focused; be able to work independently and be prepared to solve various on-site problems.
Candidate with less experience will be considered as Technical Officer.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.
The initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of two years. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to performance review and mutual agreement.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Skills Required
- Advanced diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline
- At least 5 years relevant experience in AV and/or IT support
- Experience with end-user hardware and software: MS Windows, Mac OS and Office365
- Experience with AV facilities in classrooms and meeting rooms
- Experience with Zoom and Microsoft Teams video conferencing tools
- Proven experience configuring and operating AV technologies including AV over IP, Crestron systems and digital signage
- Knowledge in installation of structured cabling systems and network equipment
- Ability to interpret proposal documents, schematics and drawings
- Good command of spoken English and Cantonese
- Ability to communicate in Putonghua
- Willingness to perform shift duty outside office hours on a roster basis
