The Technical Marketing Engineer position also can be called as Product Manager, or Prodcut Lifecycle Manager has the overall “new product” ownership (inclusive of business case) for responsible products within the category of Intelligent Power Module.
Main applications are 1) automotive intelligent power modules products for High voltage Auxiliaries inverters and On Board charger applications, and 2) Industrial intelligent power modules for HV Motor inverters and other various applications.
ResponsibilitiesAs a Technical Marketing Engineer, your responsibilities are, analyze the market and customers, define the products and roadmap, strategic pricing, initiate and carry out new product project, and maintain business growth, based on the overall ownership on the responsible product lines.
- Investigate applications and module product trends, analyze market needs and trends and then transfer into new products/solutions (New products conception and definition)
- Regularly visit customers and follow up all inquiries (new product proposals/requirements). Collect end customer’s feedback for internal new concept solutions design and ideas.
- Pull together concept designs and target specs with inputs from customers, system, application and development engineering for both electrical and packaging areas, then present them to customers.
- Initiate new product development, be the owner of biz case, Justify the investment, create targeted milestson’s, control the requirements of product and customer, offers priorities, and change management.
- Create and update product line level roadmap.
- Training and Presentation to Sales and field application engineers, and provid the promotion material and guidances to sales team.
- Primary technical and commercial interface between internal development team and sales & field application.
Position Requirements:
- 7+ years work experience in the semiconductor industry – preferably related to product for the automotive industry.
- Highly technical with the understanding of power semiconductors (such as, Sic MOSFET, IGBT, Gate drivers, etc.), semiconductor power module, and power applications, such as motor control applications, power conversions, etc., ideally for automotive applications.
- Good analytical skills
- Self-starter, proactive, high energy, results and goal driven.
- Team work skills (Working with global teams)
- Ability to formulate business cases and understanding of commercial background.
- Ability to tactfully deal with multiple business and cultures around the world.
- Good presentation skills.
- Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally.
Education
- BS degree in Engineering. BS in Electronic Engineering is preferred, and MBA degree in addition to engineering degree may have benefit.
