Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Technical Lead to provide technical leadership and architectural guidance for the mobile application development project, ensuring technical excellence across all system components. This position will be full-time contract and hybrid in Chicago, IL.

What You’ll Do

• Coordinate technical resources and activities across mobile development, backend services, and database teams to ensure efficient operations

• Provide technical guidance on Ionic Framework architecture, Angular 18 implementation, and Bootstrap UI design patterns

• Lead technical design sessions ensuring adherence to architecture standards for Spring Boot microservices and Oracle 19c database design

• Oversee integration of Miovision API for real-time traffic data and ensure optimal API performance

• Guide implementation of voice interaction features using NLP technology and haptic feedback mechanisms

• Establish and enforce coding standards, security practices, and performance optimization techniques

• Review and approve technical designs for GPS-based location services and multilingual audio output capabilities

• Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to development team members

• Troubleshoot complex technical issues across mobile frontend, Java backend, and database layers

• Ensure compliance with security requirements using Coverity and accessibility standards using WAVE testing tools

• Collaborate with Solutions Architect and Project Manager to translate business requirements into technical solutions

• Manage technical debt and recommend technology improvements and optimizations

What You'll Need

Required:

• Extensive experience with Ionic Framework and cross-platform mobile application development

• Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Spring Security, and Hibernate

• Expert knowledge of Angular 18 and modern frontend development practices

• Experience with Oracle 19c database design, optimization, and administration

• Proven track record leading technical teams and mentoring developers

• Knowledge of REST API design and integration best practices

• Experience with Maven build tools and CI/CD pipelines

• Understanding of NLP technologies, GPS services, and mobile device capabilities

• Familiarity with security testing tools (Coverity) and accessibility compliance (WAVE)

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field

• 5+ years of software development experience with 2+ years in technical leadership roles

Physical Demands

• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards

• Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.

• Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor

$85 - $95 per hour

The pay range for this position is listed above. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education. Benefit packages include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as 401k retirement account access.
