ECS is seeking a Senior Technical Lead to work in a hybrid onsite / remote capacity from our Fairfax, VA and Falls Church, VA office to work as a member of a team managing and maintaining multiple network environments to support the DOD community.

 

The Senior Technical Lead will provide technical direction and support client teams developing and/or enriching applications in Azure cloud environments, with the goal of providing stable, secure, flexible, efficient, cost-effective frameworks while also maintaining virtual infrastructure of multiple environments.  The Senior Technical Lead will report directly to the Program Manager, and will routinely engage with customers, engineers, and supporting mission partners.


  • Lead a technical team responsible for delivering cloud-based applications and requirements.
  • Work closely with the Program Manager and team leads as the senior technical member of a team to articulate, scope, and ensure timely delivery of technical solutions.
  • Work closely with stakeholders and other members of the technical team to gather technical requirements and execute on deliverables.
  • Provide development, maintenance and implementation of secure systems in Azure to support highly available, scalable, and secure platforms.
  • Provide in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with a wide range of cloud-based services with a focus on Microsoft Azure PaaS and SaaS solutions.
  • Provide and maintain a robust solution architecture compliant with DOD security standards.
  • Help the engineering team leads with skill development plans, technical interviews, and onboarding for new team members. 
  • Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
  • US Citizen.
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret with SCI security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science; Information Systems Management; or similar Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) discipline.
  • Active DOD 8140 Information Assurance Certification: IAM Level I or higher (e.g., Security+) or obtain within 45 calendar days, with IAT Level II qualification in one of the following within 90 calendar days of hire: Security+ CE, CCNA Security, CySA+, SSCP, GICSP, or GSEC.
  • Degree with 10+ years technical experience showing increased responsibility or equivalent work experience (15+ years technical experience showing increased responsibility).
  • Experience working with Department of Defense computer network organizations and/or performers.
  • Demonstrated history of leading technical delivery, mentoring others, and influencing architecture decisions.
  • Ability to bridge business and technical perspectives, simplifying complexity and driving alignment.
  • Ability to travel CONUS and OCONUS (passport required) for occasional program/customer support.
  • Familiarity with the implementation and maintenance of application, database, infrastructure, and networks via DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
  • Ability to travel <25% throughout the lifespan of the project to CONUS / OCONUS customer sites and government installations.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities, with a proven ability to weigh the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and identify the most appropriate solution.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and oral/written communication skills, with the ability to effectively and professionally interact with a diverse set of stakeholders (from peers to end-users to executive management).
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
