Back Market is looking for a Tech Lead Manager to lead our IT Ops Engineering team of two engineers (plus one open role). This is a rare hybrid position where you'll guide talented engineers while building the automation and integration solutions that make our 700+ Back Makers more effective every day.
The goal: Elevate IT maturity across Back Market through technical excellence, genuine collaboration, and meaningful innovation. You'll lead high-impact automation projects that eliminate repetitive work, implement smart governance, and scale with our rapidly growing international organization.

A passion for developing people and helping them reach their full potential
The ability to balance team management with hands-on technical work in meaningful automation projects
Openness to giving and receiving feedback in a safe, supportive environment
Experience in IT engineering or platform teams, with knowledge of our tech stack: Okta, Workday, Workato (or similar iPaaS), Python, APIs, Jamf, GCP, Kubernetes, Docker
Success in environments where leaders clear blockers, facilitate smart decisions, and find creative solutions
Enthusiasm for reaching new levels of effectiveness through intelligent automation and continuous improvement
Clear, effective communication in English (written and verbal); French is a plus
Excitement about understanding internal operations and the massive impact IT engineering has on our global organization
A problem-solving mindset that navigates ambiguity with data, curiosity, and a user-first approach (yes, internal stakeholders are users too!)
A bias for action & experiment, test new approaches, learn from data, and iterate quickly to build more value
Experience with identity lifecycle automation and governance frameworks
Background in SRE or DevOps practices applied to IT operations
Experience scaling IT engineering teams in high-growth, international environments
