Position Summary:
Aptos’ Release Management Office is looking for a Senior Upgrade Engineer with 5–8 years of experience to lead the creation, maintenance, and transformation of upgrade scripts and processes for Aptos CORE and STORE products, including migration to modern deployment approaches.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, creation, and maintenance of robust upgrade scripts and processes for CORE and STORE platforms.
- Collaborate with Product Development to transform and migrate upgrade processes to Docker containerization and other modern deployment methods.
- Execute complex implementations and upgrades, ensuring minimal disruption to client operations.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize automation scripts using PowerShell and Python for deployment and configuration.
- Install, configure, and manage SaaS product releases, including using DSC for deployments.
- Provide L2/L3 technical support, including root cause analysis (RCA) and resolution for escalated issues related to upgrades and hotfixes.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, procedures, processes, and troubleshooting guides.
- Work closely with development and support teams to facilitate smooth upgrades and resolve technical issues.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on best practices.
- Willingness to work in shifts as required to support global operations or critical project timelines.
Qualifications:
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in software upgrades, deployment automation, and process transformation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Strong expertise in scripting languages (PowerShell, Python), automation frameworks, and containerization (Docker).
- Proven ability in advanced troubleshooting, RCA, and implementing solutions for complex technical issues.
- Prior experience in retail environments is a plus.
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V is an added advantage.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience mentoring and training junior staff.
- Strong leadership, collaboration, and project management skills.
