Under general direction of the Technical Product Manager, the Senior Technical Business Analyst (TBA) will bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions by gathering, analyzing, and translating business or clinical ambiguity into a well-scoped modeling problem. They will work with a product owner mindset, framing the decisions that a model is supposed to impact, not just defining how the model will work. Additionally, they will take ownership of the user story backlog to ensure the team is consistently delivering, while also providing mentorship to more junior staff. The Senior TBA will ensure that the final product aligns with the requirements and meets quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Leads the creation of clear and detailed requirement artifacts, which may include User Stories, Use Cases, Process Diagrams, Data Flow Diagrams.
- May serve as primary point of contact when communicating and collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure a shared understanding of the requirements.
- Serves as escalation point and subject matter expert.
- Work closely with development teams to provide technical insights and guide them in implementing solutions that align with business goals.
- Establish traceability between requirements, making it clear which features or functions are tied to which business needs and objectives_
- Ensure that the documented requirements are accurate, complete, and aligned with the stakeholders' expectations. This may involve reviews, walkthroughs, or other validation processes.
- Leads testing efforts to verify that solutions meet business expectations.
- Work with data scientists to help monitor model performance drift post implementation, validate real-world impacts vs expected impacts and help feed learnings into backlog for further prioritization.
- Help to craft executive ready summaries and demos of new or in-flight work.
- Expected to exhibit time management, organizational, and prioritization skills of self and team, and an ability to balance and fulfill multiple priorities.
Position Requirements
- BS, BA in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering etc. or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of five (5) years of prior work experience in a product owner, business analyst, quality analyst or similar role.
- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Evidence of problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
- Strong SQL skills are required.
- Understanding of statistical models preferred.
- Experience with healthcare industry preferred.
- Experience with Databricks preferred.
- Project management skills and knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum) preferred.
