We are looking for a Senior Technical Business Analyst to join our Technology function in either out London or Manchester on a contract basis. This is a strong opportunity for an experienced Business Analyst to provide subject‑matter expertise at a time of significant change, supporting delivery of high‑impact technical initiatives across the business. To succeed in this role, you will be comfortable engaging with senior executives and business stakeholders, bring a structured and proactive approach to your work, and focus on adding immediate, tangible value. You will be expected to quickly build domain knowledge, operate with confidence and autonomy, and support teams through complex technical and organisational change.
Role Responsibilities
- Work directly with all levels of seniority within the Finance department to develop and detail the product backlog in the form of Themes, Epics and Stories.
- Work directly with the Finance business owner and Development Lead to prioritise work.
- Act as the communication channel between business owners and the Agile delivery team you work within.
- Undertake JIT analysis and documentation to support the team’s sprint activities.
- Undertake various aspects of development work including SQL, Azure & Anaplan
- Contribute to the planning and execution of system and acceptance testing.
- Be involved in all aspects of the software development lifecycle across different business areas within Insight.
- Act as a mentor and coach to junior members of the team
- Build and maintain a good working relationship with the business representatives, working across teams and multiple sites.
Experience Required
- Experience in the Asset Management sector, with a strong track record of leading and delivering Finance Department transformation initiatives, this experience is fundamental to success in this role.
- Advanced SQL, the ability to work independently and with developers to refactor legacy code, design and optimise complex queries, and perform in-depth data analysis to support business decision-making.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure and Azure Data Factory for cloud-based data integration and transformation.
- Proficiency in Anaplan or similar configurable SaaS software for business planning, modelling and data visualisation.
- Advanced Excel, including complex formulas and data analysis
- Experience working in Agile delivery teams using Scrum Methodology.
- Ability to apply suitable analytical approaches to requirements discovery, documentation and solution delivery.
- Skill in collecting and interpreting data, analysing results to identify patterns and trends in structured and unstructured data sets.
- Demonstrable experience of translating business requirements into technical specifications.
- Experience in release management control and communication
- A sense of personal responsibility and the drive to own problems. Provides assistance to other members of the team. Pro-actively removing blockers to maximise team productivity.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and management experience with the ability to effectively communicate at a level and depth appropriate to the audience.
