Keylane is a leading European supplier of modern SaaS platforms for the insurance and pension industry. We enable our clients to innovate, remain competitive and deliver excellent services to their customers by running their core processes on our cloud platforms.

Lifetime is our powerful and proven DB/DC platform for pension administration in the Dutch and Caribbean markets. It supports a wide range of pension providers and schemes and is delivered as a secure SaaS solution from our private cloud, fully integrated into the customers’ technical landscape via standard webservices.

Key about your role

As a Senior Technical Application Engineer in the Lifetime TAM team, you are one of the key experts responsible for the stability, security and performance of the Lifetime platform for multiple Life & Pension customers.

In this senior role you:

  • Take ownership of complex incidents and problems on the Lifetime platform, acting as a technical escalation point for colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Guard and improve platform uptime and resilience, implementing structural fixes and preventive measures for issues such as disk capacity problems, CPU bottlenecks and Tomcat outages.
  • Design, plan and execute patching and upgrade cycles for the underlying technology stack (Windows Server, Oracle, SQL Server, Tomcat and related components), balancing risk, downtime and compliance requirements.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of client and server certificates, including planning renewals, coordinating with customers and ensuring secure deployment across environments.
  • Oversee webservice provisioning for customers on IIS, including whitelisting, network/security configurations and end-to-end technical validation.
  • Drive capacity management and monitoring: tuning thresholds, improving dashboards and automating responses where possible.
  • Play a key role in external audits, penetration tests and disaster recovery/failover tests: preparing evidence, leading technical execution, and following up on remediation actions.
  • Contribute to the standardization and automation of TAM processes (runbooks, scripts, tooling) to ensure consistent, repeatable operations.
  • Work closely with product development, SaaS platform teams and customer teams to align on changes, releases and longer-term roadmap items.
  • Coach and mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge through documentation, pair troubleshooting and knowledge sessions.

You are comfortable making decisions in complex situations, keeping the overview under pressure and balancing customer expectations, security and operational risk.

Key about your team

You will work in the Lifetime TAM team, part of Keylane’s SaaS organization:

  • We deliver best-in-class SaaS services from a secure, ISO-certified private cloud, ensuring our customers can focus on pension administration while we manage the technical platform.
  • The team consists of highly skilled IT professionals with strong expertise in infrastructure, databases, middleware and security, combined with deep knowledge of the Life & Pension domain.
  • We work with standardized processes for migrations, implementations and operations, and continuously refine our way of working based on experience and feedback.
  • Lifetime is a strategic platform for Keylane; the growing number of customers makes this team increasingly important and offers room for you to influence technology choices and process improvements.
  • We value openness, collaboration and ownership: everyone is encouraged to contribute ideas and take initiative.

Requirements

You recognize yourself in the following profile:

  • You have at least a completed HBO Beta or academic degree in an IT-related field.
  • You have 5+ years of experience in technical application management, infrastructure engineering or a similar role managing business-critical applications.
  • You have strong hands-on experience with Windows Server and enterprise databases (Oracle and/or SQL Server), including performance and troubleshooting.
  • You are proficient with application and web servers such as Tomcat and IIS, and understand how they interact with networks, security components and the application layer.
  • You have practical experience with security hardening, patching and vulnerability management, especially in regulated or audited environments.
  • You are familiar with certificates (PKI), networking and firewalls, and know how to work with concepts like whitelisting, proxies and load balancers.
  • You can script and automate (for example with PowerShell, Bash or Python) and are comfortable working with monitoring and deployment tools.
  • Experience in the financial services or pension/insurance domain is a strong plus.
  • You are analytical, structured and pragmatic, able to quickly understand complex situations and define clear next steps.
  • You are a communicative team player: you work closely with colleagues and stakeholders, and can translate technical issues into business impact.
  • You are willing to work outside regular office hours and to participate in the standby/on-call rota.

A Certificate of Conduct (VOG) and reference check are part of the application process. All employees follow information security training and have basic information security responsibilities.
