POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Technical Advisor serves as a subject matter expert in advanced security and communications technologies, providing technical leadership, guidance, and strategic support across the organization. This position leverages specialized expertise in fiber optics, CCTV systems, RF technologies, structured cabling, UAS, and counter-UAS (C-UAS) systems to support operational effectiveness, system development, and technology advancement initiatives. The Senior Technical Advisor collaborates with leadership, operational teams, and independent contractors to develop technical solutions, establish standards, and ensure projects align with organizational objectives. This role also provides instruction, mentoring, and technical oversight while supporting research, strategic planning, and the continuous improvement of physical and technical security capabilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as a subject matter expert in fiber optics, CCTV systems, RF technologies, structured cabling, UAS, and C-UAS technologies
- Provide technical guidance, recommendations, and oversight on security technology projects, systems, and operational requirements
- Support the evaluation, selection, implementation, and advancement of security and communications technologies aligned with organizational goals
- Assist in the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and operational use of advanced security and communication systems
- Develop and recommend technical solutions to enhance organizational capabilities, security operations, and system performance
- Coordinate technical activities across departments and project teams to ensure consistency, efficiency, and compliance with established standards
- Provide instruction, coaching, mentoring, and technical support to employees, teams, and independent contractors
- Support the development and growth of personnel in physical security, technical security, and emerging technology disciplines
- Conduct research, analysis, and strategic planning activities in coordination with senior leadership
- Evaluate emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices to support innovation and continuous improvement
- Develop technical standards, procedures, and documentation to support operational effectiveness and consistency
- Present technical information, recommendations, and project updates in meetings, virtual environments, and classroom training settings
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and cross-functional collaboration to enhance organizational capabilities and technical proficiency
- Ensure technical projects and initiatives meet organizational requirements, quality standards, and operational objectives
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Military, government, or equivalent civilian operational experience supporting advanced security, communications, or protective technology programs, with demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following areas: UAS/C-UAS policy and operations, CCTV design and installation, security technician operations, RF technologies, fiber optics, or structured cabling.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, security management, technical operations, or a related field; equivalent operational experience in protective design engineering, remote field operations, or physical and technical security countermeasures may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Demonstrated ability to provide technical briefings, presentations, recommendations, and project updates to senior U.S. Government, private sector, and organizational leadership.
- Proven ability to lead, coordinate, and manage multiple complex, high-value technical security projects simultaneously while ensuring alignment with organizational requirements, quality standards, and operational objectives.
- Ability to serve as a technical liaison between National Security Division senior leadership, operational teams, and project stakeholders to support emerging technology initiatives, security best practices, and continuous improvement of physical and technical security capabilities.
