Operating at the intersection of industrial base analysis, defense acquisition, sustainment operations, strategic sourcing, and mission assurance, this role ensures that mitigation strategies are operationally executable, industrially realistic, and aligned to Department of War (DoW) priorities and authorities.

Embedded on-site within a highly sensitive DoW environment at Hill Air Force Base, this individual serves as a trusted advisor to senior uniformed and civilian leadership responsible for protecting strategically critical defense capabilities from supply chain disruption, adversarial dependency, industrial fragility, and operational readiness risk.

This role serves as the primary interface supporting government stakeholders on supply chain risk management (SCRM) matters impacting mission-critical technologies, defense industrial base resiliency, and operational continuity. The advisor applies deep expertise in defense sustainment, acquisition, industrial capacity analysis, and strategic risk mitigation to enable senior leadersdecisions in support of national security objectives.

The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of defense supply chains, strategic technologies, industrial manufacturing ecosystems, and Department of War processes and protocols at a senior level.

What You’ll Do:

  • Support executive-level decision-making through briefings, read-aheads, risk assessments, and actionable mitigation recommendations for senior civilian and military leaders.
  • Translate complex analytical findings into decision-grade recommendations aligned to mission assurance, operational readiness, and modernization priorities.
  • Serve as a senior advisor supporting DoW leadership on supply chain risk management and mission assurance initiatives tied to critical defense capabilities and strategic technologies.
  • Advise government stakeholders on risks impacting defense supply chains, including foreign dependency, supplier concentration, industrial base fragility, manufacturing constraints, counterfeit components, cybersecurity exposure, and geopolitical disruption.
  • Assess and validate mitigation strategies by applying expert judgment on operational feasibility, industrial base capacity, sustainment realities, and defense acquisition authorities.
  • Evaluate industrial base resilience and supplier ecosystems supporting mission-critical defense programs, advanced weapons systems, and strategic operational capabilities.
  • Coordinate across acquisition, sustainment, logistics, engineering, intelligence, and operational stakeholders to drive integrated supply chain risk mitigation efforts.
  • Provide technical and operational context on manufacturing capabilities, strategic sourcing pathways, production constraints, and defense sustainment considerations.
  • Support the refinement of methodologies, frameworks, and validation standards for defense-focused supply chain risk management initiatives.
  • Operate effectively within classified environments while supporting highly sensitive national security priorities.

What You Need:

  • 10+ years of experience supporting DoW, national security, defense acquisition, sustainment, industrial base analysis, operational logistics, or mission assurance initiatives.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM) within defense, aerospace, space systems, sustainment, or related national security environments.
  • Experience advising senior government leaders within a Military Department, program executive office, system program office, sustainment or logistics center, major command, or defense agency.
  • Strong understanding of defense industrial base operations, manufacturing ecosystems, sustainment logistics, and strategic supplier networks.
  • Proven ability to assess the feasibility and operational impact of mitigation strategies across complex, multi-tier defense supply chains.
  • Familiarity with DoW acquisition processes, sustainment frameworks, industrial readiness considerations, and mission assurance priorities.
  • Exceptional communication and executive briefing skills with experience presenting to senior military officers, SES leadership, or equivalent stakeholders.
  • Ability to operate independently in fast-paced, high-consequence national security environments.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance required at time of hire.

What’s Nice to Have:

  • Experience supporting highly sensitive or strategically critical defense modernization initiatives.
  • Background in advanced weapons platforms, aircraft or space systems, strategic deterrence and nuclear sustainment, or defense industrial mobilization efforts.
  • Experience operating within program office, sustainment or logistics center, major command, or Service headquarters environments.
  • Knowledge of adversarial supply chain threats, foreign ownership/control concerns, trusted supplier frameworks, and industrial base resilience strategies.
