Job DescriptionJoin our FINANCE team and help navigate us through a critical transformation
The Finance team is critical in supporting the Wise mission. We are listed in the US, and now are on a journey to create a mature technical accounting team to tackle complex challenges and ensure compliance with respective regulatory requirements.
We’re looking for a SENIOR TECHNICAL ACCOUNTING MANAGER WITH EXPERTISE OF FINANCIAL INSTRUMENTS AND US GAAP to join us
As a Senior Technical Accounting Manager in the Finance team, you will contribute to our mission by ensuring the accounting for our new treasury products and services in the financial systems is accurate and complete and in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS to meet our reporting needs.
Your mission
Ownership of accounting for financial instruments under US GAAP and IFRS: You will be responsible for understanding the why and how of different treasury products, but also wider accounting areas. This includes understanding the products, documenting accounting position papers, supporting the implementation of the products, and explaining the accounting to non-Finance stakeholders and to external auditors.
Collaborate cross-functionally to embed accounting into the business not just into the books: You will collaborate with different teams in Finance and Wise to advise on the accounting for new treasury products and services under US GAAP and IFRS ensuring the processes are set up and and accounting policies updated to reflect it.
About you
Theory – strong knowledge in respect of accounting for financial instruments under US GAAP and IFRS. Professional finance qualification such as the ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent.
Practice – You have prior experience tackling technical accounting for financial instruments, and have managed accounting implementation projects and demonstrated resilience to break through and overcome challenges.
Ownership – You work independently, assume responsibility and make your own judgements. Be prepared to take ownership over complex new areas and solve problems with minimal guidance.
Adaptable - You are able to adapt and re-prioritise tasks to meet changing requirements of the business and stakeholders.
Love getting things done – You are not afraid to roll up your sleeves and take responsibility to do whatever needs doing to solve problems.
Collaborative and influencing skills – You work well in an international team environment, and know how to have an impact through others. You have partnered with internal and external stakeholders and have strong communication skills.
Development – You are keen to learn and develop your knowledge of how a FinTech and fast growing scale-up operates.
