Scopely is looking for a Senior Tech QA Analyst to join our Monopoly Go! team in California on a remote basis.

Monopoly GO! is our new casual game and a key franchise that has just become one of Scopely's largest games enjoyed by millions of players. The team is based in Europe and the US, and works every day to create captivating new experiences for our players.

What You Will Do

Reporting into the Tech QA Lead, you will support quality efforts across numerous teams (Pods) that are responsible for the development, integration and release of tools and technologies. These include our Client and Server Foundations, Build and Automation Pipelines, Live Servicing, as well as In-House Tooling and other technical components that make up the foundation on which our flagship title MonopolyGo! is built upon.

  • Be a contributing partner within the Technical Foundation groups, and a primary QA DRI for Tech Foundation releases
  • Help create and maintain a healthy and structured repository of dedicated test suites / cases for new and pre existing Tech & Tooling
  • Through the creation and execution of thorough test plans, drive the QA efforts for Server Foundation releases that provide ongoing improvements to our backend systems and tools
  • Attend team ceremonies to remain current and knowledgeable on the work being undertaken at all times
  • Review work briefs and specs at the earliest opportunity, flagging concerns or considerations prior to production
  • Assist the wider team with technical investigation support on issues uncovered through KPI trends or customer support escalations
  • Work alongside other disciplines to raise pain points and known quality concerns with existing Tech, always striving to improve test efficiency and quality output
  • Work closely with the wider QA team to assess tooling and manual processes, and where Tech solutions could assist to better efficiency and confidence
  • Generate and maintain a deep understanding of MonopolyGo! and its core game mechanics, assisting and carrying out other duties to support the game QA team where necessary
  • Work closely with Live & Release to investigate, document and push for swift resolution of live issues, owning and understanding where potential gaps existed, and helping plug these for in future
  • Work within and help the Tech Foundations team to support a 'shift left' attitude, helping discover and resolve issues as early as possible
  • Aligning with QA Leadership and the QA Director, standardise processes with other pods, providing feedback and suggestions to better these where applicable
  • Engage in annual reviews to aid with yours and others development alike, providing feedback when called upon, including to that of your lead / manager
  • Support QA Leadership in attaining the teams goals through ownership and tracking of KPOs / OKRs
  • Lead by example with regards to the Scopely tenets

What We're Looking For

  • Strong verbal / written communication and an excellent attention to detail
  • Strong time management, accountability and organizational skills
  • Proactive, enthusiastic and self-motivated
  • Flexible to an agile setup with the ability to multitask, assisting in coverage for multiple high profile releases with strict deadlines
  • A strong commercial awareness with an understanding of business priorities and goals
  • Comfortable traveling on occasion to offshore hub locations
  • Exceptional reporting capabilities
  • Knowledge of JIRA and / or similar bug tracking systems
  • Knowledge and experience working with Unity
  • Knowledge and experience working with Backend / Admin systems and tools
  • Mobile exposure and an understanding of Apple / Google submission protocol

An understanding of the gaming industry and the typical end to end development lifecycle

  • Familiarity with automation frameworks

For candidates in CA, CO, NJ, NY and WA, the annual salary range is $79,900 - $117,700, plus equity, bonus and benefits including healthcare benefits, retirement benefits, pet insurance, paid holidays, paid Scopely free days, and unlimited paid time-off. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
