Technical Product Manager - RCM (Revenue Cycle Management) Common Data Platform
The Technical Product Manager (TPM) - RCM Common Data Platform drives the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of building out a unified data platform across the full Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) lifecycle. The solution will ultimately ingest disparate EHR and healthcare data sources, standardize them and normalize them into single source of truth. This individual will work alongside members from across Optum to solve complex business needs for our internal operations teams. The role is key to execution on critical use cases to understand the data, ingest data, unify disparate data and drive AI powered insights. The ideal candidate for this role must be passionate about how we can leverage data to drive improvements in our RCM Operations, effective at working in a fast-paced, high-energy environment and confident in their interactions with senior leaders. The TPM RCM Common Data Platform role combines deep technical product expertise with solid RCM data knowledge to deliver scalable, compliant, AI powered insights that reduce administrative burden, improves performance, accelerates throughput, and strengthen financial outcomes.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Drive Product Strategy & Product Execution for CDP Data
- Leads the data strategy across one-to-multiple CDP workstreams including (but not limited to) Longitudinal Account Record, Ambulatory Insights and AI Powered RCM Insights
- Leads product team members in translating desired capabilities into product requirements specifications and/or operational AI powered enhancements - serving as the data expert to drive product and engineering to complete CDP build as outlined in projected roadmap
- Understands the planned architecture of CDP, how it is being utilized to meet business/operational needs
- Strategically aligns with Commercial team on Common Data Platform - along with how the data will be utilized from the platform
- Strategically aligns with teams infusing data into Common Data Platform - along with how the data will be utilized from the platform
- Technical Product Leadership & Architecture Alignment
- Leads technical product design for CDP data, ensuring alignment with engineering and architecture standards
- Partners with engineering to identify and drive improvements in data ingestion, labeling, interoperability, and integration across RCM ecosystem
- Balances rapid delivery needs with scalable architecture and long-term platform health
- Agile Execution & Operational Excellence
- Leads agile product practices across engineering and data architecture teams to ensure predictable, high-quality delivery of new capabilities
- Maintains a rigorous Definition of Done
- Partners with delivery leadership to manage team capacity, predictability of sprints, and cross-team dependencies for deployment
- Cross-Functional Collaboration & Influence
- Leads multi-year Customer deployment plans for CDP data - creation, internal alignment, customer reviews & evolution
- Serves as chief data expert across teams to internally align people, process and technology while helping drive CDP adoption
- Coordinates with Product Operations and Engineering on rollout strategy for existing customers
- Works across the matrix to define, evolve, and support release of specific data related capabilities and functions across customers

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (Information Technology, Computer Science, Health Information Management, Product Management, Analytics)
- 8+ years in healthcare services, healthcare technology or software development
- 6+ years in product management or technical product roles with specific experience in data platforms
- 3+ years in technical product leadership across large, matrixed initiatives integrating engineering, data architects, RCM operations, and clinical stakeholders
- Hands-on experience with RCM data within US healthcare
- Hands-on experience with data platforms and business intelligence related technologies including Databricks, Power BI, Tableau, etc.
- Key Skills:
- Experience driving data platform product roadmaps, prioritization frameworks, and large-scale cross-functional initiatives
- Deep domain expertise in revenue cycle data and related applications
- Solid understanding of data warehouse concepts and their application to RCM
- Ability to interpret and evaluate RCM data as well as how to unify disparate data sources
- Solid technical acumen in RCM data structures and associated applications
