About the Job
Saxo is seeking a Senior Tax Reporting Specialist to join our Global Tax Reporting team with a specific focus on CRS and FATCA reporting. In this role, you will play a crucial part in navigating the complex tax landscape, ensuring Saxo's compliance with CRS and FATCA regulations. You will drive activities across jurisdictions to ensure Saxo's compliance with relevant legislation, market practices, and internal rules.
At Saxo, we pride ourselves on fostering a growth-embracing culture. You thrive in a dynamic, ambitious, yet informal and welcoming work environment. We are committed to your personal and professional development, offering ample opportunities for career advancement. Work alongside the best in the industry and make a real impact.
Responsibilities
As our new Senior Tax Reporting Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate and compliant CRS and FATCA reporting, with a strong focus on data analysis, due diligence and reporting controls. You will work hands-on with large and complex data sets throughout the end-to-end reporting process and help ensure that reporting data is complete, accurate and ready for submission.
In addition, you will contribute to defining and maintaining reporting requirements and ensuring that reportable amounts and personally identifiable information (PII) data fields are correctly specified and delivered in the required formats.
Other responsibilities include:
- Preparing, analysing and validating large data sets used for CRS and FATCA due diligence and reporting.
- Performing due diligence activities, including generating, testing and validating data to identify inconsistencies, exceptions and potential reporting issues.
- Designing, implementing and maintaining data-driven controls and reconciliations to ensure completeness and accuracy throughout the reporting process.
- Investigating data discrepancies and reporting errors, identifying root causes and supporting their resolution.
- Developing and maintaining efficient Excel-based analyses, validation models and other tools supporting the reporting process.
- Acting as a frontrunner in identifying and implementing AI and automation opportunities across tax reporting processes, data analysis and controls, with the aim of reducing manual activities and improving efficiency, scalability and quality.
- Maintaining a comprehensive log of reporting errors and supporting mitigation and remediation activities.
- Working closely with technology and other stakeholders to translate reporting requirements into clear data and system requirements.
- Monitoring changes to reporting requirements and XML schemas and assessing their impact on data, controls and reporting processes.
- Delivering CRS and FATCA reports globally to high standards of completeness, accuracy and timeliness.
Your profile
We are looking for someone who enjoys working hands-on with data and investigating why numbers or data do not look as expected. You have a strong analytical mindset and are comfortable working with large and complex data sets, identifying patterns, exceptions and inconsistencies.
You are structured and detail-oriented, but also able to understand the bigger picture and translate regulatory requirements into practical data checks and controls. You take ownership of your work, enjoy solving complex problems and are motivated by continuously improving and automating processes.
You are also curious about how AI, automation and emerging technologies can improve the way tax reporting is performed, and you are motivated to take a leading role in identifying and implementing new solutions within the team.
Further:
- Relevant degree in accounting, finance, economics, data analytics, business administration or a related field, combined with strong practical experience in data analysis and reporting.
- Strong experience working with large and complex data sets and performing data analysis and validation.
- Experience designing or operating data controls, reconciliations and exception-based reviews.
- Advanced Excel skills, including experience building structured models using complex formulas, data validation and data transformation.
- Experience with Power BI, SQL or similar data analysis tools is a strong advantage.
- Strong interest in AI and automation and the ability to identify practical opportunities for applying new technologies to reporting processes and controls.
- Experience with financial, regulatory or tax reporting is an advantage.
- Experience with CRS and FATCA is a plus, but not a prerequisite if you have a strong data and reporting background.
- Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to investigate data issues systematically from identification through to root cause.
- Ability to communicate clearly and confidently in English, both verbally and in writing.
