Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Tax Manager to join our corporate tax practice, focusing on business income tax planning, compliance, and ASC 740 income tax accounting. This role involves managing multiple client engagements, providing strategic tax solutions, and leading teams to deliver high-quality results.
This is not just a compliance role—the ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, client relationship management, and strategic tax planning expertise, with a clear pathway to Partner or Managing Director.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise multiple client service teams on tax engagements
  • Plan, execute, and deliver corporate tax compliance and consulting projects across various industries
  • Provide innovative tax planning strategies and identify tax-saving opportunities
  • Manage engagement budgets, timelines, and overall project delivery
  • Drive business development efforts, including identifying new opportunities and expanding client relationships
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships as the primary point of contact
  • Review complex corporate tax returns and ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Lead and review ASC 740 income tax provision engagements
  • Research and consult on complex tax matters
  • Mentor, train, and evaluate junior staff and team members
  • Collaborate with internal specialists, including Washington National Tax Office (WNTO)
  • Ensure proper documentation, reporting, and compliance standards
  • Participate in industry events and professional development activities
Required Skills
  • Strong experience in Corporate Income Tax Compliance & Consulting
  • Deep expertise in ASC 740 (Income Tax Provision)
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and federal tax regulations
  • Experience with state & local taxation, international tax, and transfer pricing
  • Proven ability to manage multiple engagements and teams
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical skills
  • Excellent client communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience with tax technology tools (e.g., OneSource Tax Provision preferred)
  • Ability to drive revenue growth and support business development initiative.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Master’s / LLM in Taxation / JD preferred)
  • CPA or active JD (law license) required
  • Minimum 5–7+ years of progressive tax experience
  • Prior experience in public accounting preferred
