As we expand our footprint in the industry, we are looking for a Senior Tax Manager to join our team! Reporting to the Head of Tax, this position will perform a wide variety of tax-related duties to help support and execute on all direct and indirect taxes applicable to Clearwater.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting
- Lead the preparation and primary review of the global tax provision in accordance with ASC 740, including SEC financial statement disclosures and SOX documentation.
- Clearwater recently completed two major acquisitions and is operating in ≈15 countries. Experience incorporating these elements a plus.
- Contribute to the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to reconcile various tax balances and submit/review journal entries as appropriate.
- Assist in preparing statutory financials.
- Lead the preparation and primary review of the global tax provision in accordance with ASC 740, including SEC financial statement disclosures and SOX documentation.
- Tax Compliance
- Lead the preparation and primary review of federal, state, and foreign direct and indirect tax returns.
- Tax compliance items include GILTI, FDII, and BEAT related calculations and considerations as well as working with local advisors to administer compliances in foreign countries.
- Participate in the annual transfer pricing documentation for Clearwater’s global companies (US Report, Master File, and Required Local Files).
- Participate in the preparation and documentation of certain tax incentives, such as R&D credits and IP Box regimes.
- Monitor tax department obligations/payments and support compliance with various taxes, such as property taxes, rent taxes, etc…
- Lead the preparation and primary review of federal, state, and foreign direct and indirect tax returns.
- General
- Identify and assist with tax planning.
- Stay current with relevant U.S. and international tax law.
- Coordinate and manage global tax audits.
- Collaborate with various departments of the business for tax related items.
- Assist with and/or own various ad hoc projects, as needed or requested.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or other related certification, such as a CPA license.
- Minimum 8 years of tax experience in public accounting or corporate tax setting.
- Ability to independently resolve problems where analysis requires in-depth evaluation of several factors.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex tax matters.
- Experience with acquisitions a plus.
