Essential Functions:

  • Work with outside advisors on the preparation and review of U.S. federal, state and international related returns for a mix of corporations, LLCs and partnerships.
  • Prepare and review indirect tax compliance, including sales and use tax filings.
  • Maintain tax calendars, documentation, and supporting workpapers.
  • Assist with tax payments and related account reconciliations.
  • Prepare U.S. GAAP income tax provisions for domestic corporations and foreign subsidiaries, including analysis of deferred taxes, income tax payable/receivable, total tax expense, and effective tax rate.
  • Prepare account reconciliations and assist with tax-related journal entries.
  • Gather and organize financial data for tax reporting purposes.
  • Assist with maintaining documentation supporting tax positions.
  • Help respond to requests from tax authorities and external auditors.
  • Support responses to IRS and state tax authorities.
  • Conduct basic tax research on federal and state tax issues.
  • Monitor tax law updates and summarize findings for the team.
  • Identify tax risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Partner with accounting and finance teams to collect required tax information.
  • Assist with process improvements and tax department administrative tasks.
  • Support special projects and other duties as assigned.

Necessary Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of corporate tax concepts and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines with attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with Workday a plus.
  • Key competencies include: analytical thinking, attention to detail, time management, team collaboration, professional communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is required.
  • CPA preferred but not required.

Experience Requirements:

  • 4-6 years of related work experience.
  • Experience in a multinational or publicly traded company is preferred.
