The Opportunity
Digit88 is expanding the extended software product engineering team for its partner, a US-based Energy Analytics SaaS platform company. Our partner is building a suite of cloud-based business operation support platforms in the Utilities Rate Lifecycle space in the Energy sector/domain. This is a bleeding edge AI and Big Data platform that helps large energy utility companies in the US plan, manage, review and optimize their new product and rate design, billing, rate analysis, forecasting, and CRM. The candidate would be joining an existing team of product engineers in the US, China and Pune/India and help us establish an extended product engineering team at Digit88.
Job Profile:
Digit88 is looking for a hands-on Tariff Analyst (Role similar to Data Analyst with focus on tariff related datasets from the Energy/Utilities domain) with expertise in Excel and SQL, and with a know-how on Dashboarding. The role calls for excellent problem solving and analytical skills, attention to details, ability to understand patterns within the dataset, and understanding correlation between different data elements, and ability to learn new tools. To be successful in this role and position one must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to lead from the front.
The role provides an opportunity to drive positive energy consumption habits and catalyze a clean energy future. You must enjoy learning and building rapidly evolving products/platforms.
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- Overall Industry experience 4-6 years in Data Analysis with at least 1-2 years in a leadership role.
- Bachelor’s Degree in analytical subject area. E.g., Engineering, Statistics.... etc.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel functions and pivot tables.
- Understanding of relational database concepts and familiarity with SQL.
- Basic to intermediate Python programming concepts and hands-on experience.
- Experience in automating workflows using Python.
- Leadership abilities: Ability to guide and mentor juniors in Python automation analysis, choice of tools and techniques.
- Ability to lead teams to deliver high-quality deliverables on time.
- Good Analytical & Logical skills.
- Demonstrable aptitude for Innovation & Problem solving.
- Good communication skills & ability to work across Cross-functional teams.
- Understand complex data relationships and transform the same into data models.
- Any prior experience in handling Utility tariffs, rates and programs is an added advantage.
- Participates in sprint planning & other ceremonies, passionately works towards fulfilling the committed sprint goals.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience & Knowledge with tools like; Microsoft Excel macros, Power query
- Experience in Energy Industry & familiar with basic concepts of Utility (electrical/gas...) tariffs is a plus
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with prior experience in collaboration with multiple teams, leading and front-ending tasks/teams by interacting with the customer.
- Familiarity with writing programs using Python or Shell scripts.
- Passionate about working with data and data analyses.
- 1+ year experience in Agile methodology.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Responsible for Communicating & Co-ordinating with Delivery team
- Assist delivery team in validating the input data received from client for modelling work.
- Work with Cross functional teams to resolve issues in the Modelling tool.
- Responsible for Maintaining the tariff models with timely updates for price, logic or other enhancements as per client requirement.
- Build and deliver compelling demonstrations/visualizations of products

- Contribute to the success of a rapidly growing and evolving organization
