Mercer is hiring a Senior Human Resources Transformation Consultant. This will be based in Philadelphia, PA or Washington, D.C. and is a hybrid role requiring 3 days per week in the office.

We are seeking a talented consultant to join our Career team at Mercer as a Senior Human Resources Transformation (HRT) consultant. In Career, we help organizations shape and activate better workforce decisions with speed, confidence and impact.
This role will lead HR transformation engagements that intentionally embed AI, automation, and data-driven approaches to accelerate value, improve decision-making, and modernize HR functions and operations.
What you will do
Develop business and client relationships. Generate revenue through new client development and expand relationships with mid-to-large organizations. Lead client conversations about how AI and automation can unlock value for HR and the workforce across the employee lifecycle, and business outcomes. Create solution proposals that combine HR strategy, technology, and AI-enabled capabilities; negotiate scope and execute contracts.
Demonstrate and market expertise in HR transformation and AI enablement. Serve as a local market representative for Mercer in HR transformation, bringing together HR strategy, operating model design, digital employee experience, process redesign, technology enablement, and organizational adoption to drive conversations around the future of an AI-native HR function
Deliver client engagements end-to-end. Lead the delivery team for HR transformation engagements, with overall responsibility for ensuring the quality and value of all project deliverables. Manage project economics, ensuring projects are delivered according to project scope as well as on time and within budget. Mentor junior consultants in modern HR practices, analytics, and AI adoption and serve as a resource for project guidance.
Contribute to Mercer and the solution area. Contribute to thought leadership, methodology development and go-to-market collateral that integrates AI-driven HR transformation. Collaborate across Career, Mercer, and Marsh to leverage firm-wide capabilities and promote integrated solutions.
What we’re looking for
Bachelor’s degree (business, information systems, HR management, organizational psychology or similar). Advanced degree preferred.
Minimum 8 years of external consulting experience delivering HR transformation projects for mid-to-large organizations.
At least 10 years of program management experience on large-scale, multi-stream projects.
Deep HR domain expertise.
Strong content knowledge in at least three of: AI-enablement, HR strategy, HR technology, organizational effectiveness, HR operating models, process redesign, and employee experience
Broad understanding across the employee lifecycle and how HR functions (recruiting, talent, rewards, performance, learning).
HR technology and AI experience
Hands-on experience with core HRIS platforms such as Workday or SuccessFactors and with best-of-breed HR technologies (recruiting, payroll, learning, talent management).
Experience with shared services platforms (case/knowledge/document management, e.g., ServiceNow).
Demonstrated experience implementing digital automation (RPA), conversational AI/chatbots, and analytics or machine learning solutions in HR contexts.
Practical knowledge of generative AI/LLMs: use-case identification, prompt design, vendor assessment, data requirements, model validation, and safe deployment practices.
Consulting and commercial skills
Proven track record in business development, financial scoping, proposal writing, and presenting to executive stakeholders.
Ability to design comprehensive, innovative solutions that combine HR strategy, technology, and AI to solve complex client problems.
Strong collaboration, mentoring, and stakeholder management skills.

Office-based teams will identify at least one “anchor day” per week on which their full team will be together in person.The applicable base salary range for this role is $165,500 to $331,000.The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
