The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for driving usability engineering and product validation strategies, leading cross-functional teams to deliver safe, intuitive, and regulatory-compliant solutions. Translate business and user needs into system requirements, leverage e.g. Digital Twin simulation and validation platforms, and manage change programs to optimize processes and usability across global teams.
Your role will include:
Translate business and user needs into system requirements, ensuring usability, cost efficiency, and stakeholder alignment drive the system design.
Leverage Digital Twin simulation and validation platforms to assess performance and usability, enabling predictive insights and risk mitigation.
Lead usability engineering strategies end-to-end, including scenario design, user studies, formative/summative testing, and integration of usability evidence into system requirements.
Drive product validation and clinical validation strategies, ensuring evidence aligns with regulatory standards, usability requirements, and business priorities.
Take ownership of product validation activities, coordinating deliverables and ensuring compliance with Philips Patient Safety and Quality standards.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure usability and validation engineering activities align with project goals and regulatory expectations .
Act as a bridge between R&D, manufacturing, regulatory affairs, and other functional teams, ensuring alignment on usability and systems engineering requirements.
Lead initiatives to develop and implement process enhancements within the systems engineering framework, leveraging lean methodologies to optimize workflows and maximize productivity.
You're the right fit if:
PhD or Master’s (MSc) degree in Human Technology Interaction, Systems, Physics, Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
5-7 years of experience in usability engineering, system validation, and project/change management in a high-tech or medical device environment.
Analytical and architectural thinking, with a system-wide perspective and physical insight.
Flexibility and a hands-on mentality to deliver sustainable results and creative solutions.
Broad experience of leading large multi-site project teams, delivering complex, high technology programs
Customer-focused, with excellent communication skills and a team-oriented approach.
Fluency in English.
*This position is located in Netherlands, it isn't open for relocation.
