We are looking for a Senior Systems Software Engineer to join a team of skilled and motivated engineers. This is deep systems engineering paired with full-stack ownership to develop highly optimized streaming stack, achieve ultra low latencies, strike the right balance between portability and performance and bring GeForce Now to the leanest of consumer devices. Are you an Android expert that is passionate about streaming technology? Then we are keen to hear from you !

What you will be doing:

  • Build and maintain features across the full Android application stack — Input, Networking, Video Rendering, UI, App Packaging and Distribution.

  • Define and develop performance benchmarking for targeted impact analysis - profile and continuously tune the software across networking, CPU, GPU, and input using the knowledge of Android tooling ecosystem and AOSP internals.

  • Innovate, design, and develop features that improve video latency, quality, performance, reliability, security, and maintainability across diverse hardware and Android-based OS environments.

  • Own features from scoping through delivery — breaking down work, drafting technical requirements and design documents, tracking milestones, handling cross-team dependencies and risks, and proactively surfacing blockers before they slip a schedule.

  • Contribute actively to code and design reviews, team processes, and methodologies.

  • Partner across a variety of internal engineering and QA teams and external partners that build Android products.

What we need to see:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related area, or equivalent experience.

  • 10+ years of experience in systems software development with a thorough command of the Android application core concepts such as Activity, Fragment, Service and JNI.

  • Experience with graphics rendering and video playback pipelines on Android using MediaCodec, EGL and Vulkan.

  • Hands-on proficiency with Android profiling and debugging tools across networking, input, CPU and GPU such as Dumpsys, Traceview and GPU inspector.

  • Good understanding of Android build system components like Gradle, Jenkins and AAB

  • Understanding of Android’s test infrastructure such as instrumentation, UI automation and unit testing.

  • Highly proficient in Java and C/C++, and comfortable working in a large, long-lived codebase.

  • Proficient in visualization tools like Kibana to run statistical data analysis to measure feature performance and effectiveness.

  • Familiarity with project management tools like Jira, Confluence, Perforce and Git.

  • Ability to independently drive projects to completion, with excellent written and verbal communication and a proactive approach to identifying problems and pushing them to resolution.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Familiarity with low-latency video streaming pipelines, including video codecs, display, color spaces, scaling and other video processing operations.

  • Familiarity with video streaming networking technologies such as RTSP and WebRTC.

  • Contributions or expertise regarding multimedia implementations in AOSP.

  • Proficiency in using AI developer tools & models for enhanced productivity.
