Primary Responsibilities:
- Comply with Optum and client business unit requirements, employment terms, company policies, procedures, and applicable operational directives
- Configure, support, and enhance Workday Supply Chain Management capabilities, primarily Workday Procurement and Workday Inventory
- Support end-to-end procure-to-pay and inventory processes, including requisitions, approvals, purchase orders, receipts, returns, stock requests, transfers, counting, replenishment, and inventory adjustments
- Maintain supply chain foundation data such as suppliers, purchase items, catalogs, spend categories, units of measure, inventory sites, stocking locations, and related hierarchies
- Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements, document current and future-state processes, evaluate options, and translate needs into scalable Workday solutions
- Configure and troubleshoot Workday business processes, condition rules, validations, notifications, routing, security groups, and domain or business-process security policies
- Design and maintain operational reports, dashboards, calculated fields, and reconciliation controls for procurement, inventory, supplier, and financial data
- Support integrations with suppliers, procurement networks, finance systems, third-party logistics providers, and other internal or external applications. Monitor schedules, investigate failures, and coordinate resolution
- Perform functional testing, regression testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing. Prepare test scenarios, expected results, evidence, and defect documentation
- Manage change-control activities and migrate approved configuration, reports, and integrations across Workday tenants through production release
- Monitor ServiceNow queues, interface errors, scheduled jobs, and urgent requests. Resolve incidents and service requests within agreed service levels and provide timely updates to peers, leaders, and clients
- Assist with Workday releases, feature assessments, maintenance activities, security reviews, access requests, and production-readiness validation
- Analyze root causes, recommend preventive actions, prepare support documentation, and contribute to knowledge transfer and cross-skilling
- Identify automation, process standardization, data-quality, user-experience, and control improvements across procurement and inventory operations
- Work effectively with client, finance, procurement, supply chain, integration, reporting, security, and informatics teams with limited supervision
- Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of hands-on Workday technical development and configuration experience, preferably supporting Workday Procurement, Inventory, or related Workday Financial Management and Spend Management capabilities
- Solid hands-on experience configuring and enhancing Workday business processes, including condition rules, validations, approval routing, notifications, and security configurations. Workday supports customizable business-process definitions and configurable condition rules
- Hands-on experience with Workday integrations and data interfaces, including troubleshooting integration failures, data issues, and interface exceptions. Experience with EIB, Workday Connectors, Workday Studio, APIs/web services, or other Workday integration technologies is highly preferred. Workday identifies EIB, Connectors, and Workday Studio among its integration technologies
- Experience developing and maintaining Workday custom reports, business objects, data sources, calculated fields, and data-validation/reconciliation solutions. Calculated fields can be used across business processes, integrations, and reporting
- Experience analyzing, troubleshooting, and resolving technical production issues involving Workday configurations, integrations, security/access, data discrepancies, calculated fields, reports, and business-process exceptions
- Experience supporting Workday security configurations, including analyzing access issues and understanding the impact of security permissions on reports, fields, and configurations. Workday documentation notes that calculated-field access is governed by underlying field access and security groups/domains
- Working knowledge of procure-to-pay and inventory processes sufficient to translate business requirements into technical Workday configurations and solutions. This keeps the functional knowledge as supporting context rather than making it the core of the role
- Understanding of Workday tenant management, configuration migration, change control, release management, regression testing, and deployment practices
- Demonstrated ability to assess technical dependencies and downstream impacts of Workday configuration changes across business processes, integrations, reporting, and related functionality. Workday specifically notes that configuration changes such as calculated-field changes can have downstream impacts
- Demonstrated solid analytical and technical problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate requirements into scalable Workday configurations and technical solutions, document designs, and communicate technical considerations to stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage technical deliverables and priorities, collaborate with global functional and technical teams, and provide clear status updates
- Willingness to continuously develop Workday technical expertise and work during US business hours when required
