The Opportunity
Allegro MicroSystems is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Systems Engineer to join our Inductive and Magnetic Position Sensor product line team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in driving the product definition and providing strategic technical support to our key customers. You will collaborate closely with Allegro's design, validation, test, marketing, field applications teams, and industry-leading customers to define and deliver innovative position sensors solutions for automotive and industrial markets.
What You Will Do
Lead product definition activities for new position sensor ICs, translating market trends, customer requirements, and competitive analysis into comprehensive system and IC-level technical specifications.
Define system architectures and drive system-level modeling, magnetic simulation, and prototyping to validate sensor concepts and architectures prior to silicon development.
Collaborate closely with product development team to ensure product requirements meet target applications, particularly for robotics and automotive systems.
Perform comprehensive system-level and applications-based testing in the laboratory to verify the performance and functionality of Allegro's Position Sensor ICs under real-world conditions.
Provide strategic technical guidance for key customer design-in activities, ensuring successful system integration of Allegro's magnetic and inductive position sensor ICs.
Contribute to the development of internal and customer-facing tools for the design and simulation of magnetic and inductive position sensor solutions.
Develop comprehensive application notes, white papers, technical presentations, and demonstration platforms to showcase the capabilities of Allegro's sensor portfolio.
What You Will Need
- MSEE or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of industry experience.
- Strong expertise in magnetic sensing technologies is required, with a specific emphasis on TMR and Hall-effect sensors. Experience with inductive sensing is highly desirable.
- Strong object-oriented programming skills in C++, C#, Python, MATLAB or equivalent.
- Solid knowledge and practical experience with PCB design software (Altium or equivalent).
- Extensive hands-on electronics laboratory experience, proficient in utilizing a diverse array of tools and test methodologies for thorough sensor characterization and troubleshooting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for diagnosing complex technical issues and delivering innovative solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive, customer-focused mindset with a strong drive for results.
