Position Overview
The Senior Systems PKI Engineer role has the primary responsibility for designing and support of the Enterprise PKI platform. General duties include building to standards as defined by the organization. Taking into consideration monitoring\tuning, capacity planning, standardization, continuous improvement, and assisting in the long-term strategic planning for the PKI environment. Partner with management and other engineers to provide technical support using their background to take on Senior level work assignments the team is engaged in.What You’ll Do- Proactive design and deployment of all PKI solutions, work with Advanced and Lead Engineers to support the environment.
- Administer and support core technologies (e.g. Venafi, Luna HSM, Certificate platform).
- Implement monitoring, configuration management and reporting functions that will make a hands-off environment and assist in the design.
- Assist in defining and documenting best practices and support procedures.
- Maintain certificate inventory and asset configuration documentation.
- Stay current with technological developments in systems administration technology and recommend ways to take advantage of new technology.
- Assist in conducting research and making recommendations on Windows Server / VMWARE / Unix / Linux / Storage / Recovery products, services, protocols, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts as it pertains to the PKI platform.
- Respond to as needed and work to resolve all critical incidents.
- Work closely with various business users to define solutions that meet user expectations
- Assist in identifying improvement opportunities and facilitate innovation
- Support the definition and development of documentation, procedures, and standards for PKI enterprise environments
- Support the evaluation and recommendation of tools and new technologies for the PKI enterprise environments
- Assist in performing impact analyses, research products, configure software, and establish standards and procedures that support the company’s PKI environment needs
- Assist in the root cause analysis for problems and drive strong preventive actions.
- Participates in the on-call production support rotation and may occasionally be required to work hours outside of the traditional work schedule.
