The Opportunity
Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the design, development integration and test of new capabilities within the LAND4140 BMS Project supporting the Battlespace Communication Systems (BCS) enteprise. The BCS program combines both developmental and off the shelf hardware and software to provide world leading communications capability for users. It can be rapidly deployed from anywhere, and its modular design provides a flexible, scalable solution that can be customised for various mission needs. The LAND4140 BMS project is responsible for delivering the next-generation Command and Control (C2) capability to the Australian Defence Force.
As a Senior Systems Engineer you will apply your extensive experience to a broad range of activities being undertaken by BDA to develop, integrate and deploy new BMS capabilities.
This role is based in Brisbane.
Responsibilities
  • Develop requirements for the LAND4140 BMS Project.
  • Support system architecture development.
  • Manage and define system interfaces and boundaries.
  • Lead and develop verification requirements, test plans, procedures and reports.
  • Coordinate, plan and conduct integration and formal verification testing.
  • Support lab and field demonstration events.
  • Lead the development of engineering documentation (Specifications, Design Documents, Interface Definitions, Test Procedures etc.).

Experience/Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in complex technical development and integration projects. (essential)
  • Experience working in teams to develop complex software products. (essential)
  • Hold tertiary qualifications that satisfies the requirements for membership with Engineers Australia (MIEAust) or equivalent technical experience in a Systems Engineering discipline. (essential)
  • Familiarity with engineering change processes. (essential)
  • Demonstrated experience in systems and software development lifecycle (essential).
  • Demonstrated experience in system level testing in a laboratory and field environments (desirable)
  • Experience with network and communications systems. (desirable)
  • Experience with Agile delivery methodologies (desirable)
  • Experience with Defence projects. (desirable)
