What will you contribute?
  • As a key member of the Architecture & Strategy team, you will contribute to delivering various architectural capabilities which will provide required guidance, guardrails and services to various Finastra’s Business Units, Products/services. 
  • Partnering in the design & development of these architectural capabilities, which will improve profitability for our managed hosting services by leveraging standardised approaches/services and ensuring compliance. 
  • The role is a balanced mix of solution architecture & DevOps Engineer, i.e., sound theoretical knowledge about application/system architecture, but more importantly, being practical, i.e., strong hands-on implementation/coding skills & experience. As a Senior DevOps Engineer, the successful candidate will use their knowledge, skills & experience to provide required guidance, hands-on support and assistance to the team to design & build Architecture Capabilities and further help integrate with our solutions or platforms spanning moderately complex technical and business capability domains with cost and strategic implications. 
  • In Customer Technology products, automation opportunities abound across shared services like DevSecOps, networking, client connectivity, DNS, security benchmarking, capacity management, IAM, key management and more.
  • The Senior DevOps Engineer will work collaboratively with management, scrum masters, Disaster Recovery engineers, Domain Architects, Solution Architects and critically, the Cloud Automation team to define, create (scripting), deploy, test and staff enablement of required automation activities.
Responsibilities & Deliverables:  Your deliverables as a Senior DevOps Engineer will include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Support the Principal Architect in the development of various architectural capabilities which will be utilised within the company.
  • Collaborate to improve existing capabilities, i.e., share practically provable ideas to improve and expand these capabilities to provide better value and experience to their consumers.
  • Present proposed idea (theoretical/conceptual) to other team members and wider organisation as required, i.e., should be able to develop and make presentations.
  • Develop practical demonstrations of proposed solutions, i.e., proof-of-concepts and demonstrate them to other members of the team as well wider organisation
  • Provide detailed specifications for adoption or further expansion of proposed solutions, which include technical resources, skills & efforts required.
  • Mentor and train other team members and seek to continually improve various architectural capabilities & processes.
  • Develop solutions using open source as well vendor supplied code base, following organisational standards, industry best standards, security & compliance protocols.
  • Collaborate in analysing, defining & implementing technical standards
  • Tests, debugs, analyses and fixes application problems/issues
  • Works closely with stakeholders to fix issues in a timely fashion
  • Follows the software development life cycle processes and good practices
  • Interacts with internal stakeholders to support product releases and/or resolve program problems
  • Other duties and projects as assigned
Required Skills & Experience : 5+Yrs Technical skills:
  • Minimum 5+ years of practical experience in the field of DevOps Engineering is required
  • Minimum 3+ years of practical experience working with various public cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure or AWS, including practical experience in using as well as integrating with services offered by the cloud providers.
  • Expert understanding of cloud computing architecture, technical design, and implementations, including Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS) delivery models.
  • Practical experience of designing and developing solutions on containerised & orchestration platforms like Kubernetes, Docker, etc. Primarily with cloud native offering like Azure Kubernetes Service or AWS EKS. 
  • Expert practical knowledge of scripting languages (PowerShell, NodeJS, JavaScript/Typescript, Python, Unix Shell, etc.) as well as YAML & JSON.
  • Expert practical knowledge in delivering automation, e.g., API driven integration, DevOps Pipelines, etc.
  • Expert knowledge regarding various principles like GitOps, IAC, Cloud-specific patterns, and Networking, especially in cloud-hosted solutions
  • Excellent customer service and communication (oral / written) skills required (primarily “English” language).
  • RESTful APIs, Microservices, and SQL are required
  • Angular, NestJS, HTML, CSS, and Material Design are desirable 
  • Working knowledge of orchestration and configuration tools is a bonus (Ansible required; Puppet and Chef are desirable) 
  • Good to know the following 12 Factor principles
  • Desirable to have exposure to a minimum of a single solution within each category of the Periodic Table of DevOps (except AIOps/Analytics, which is nice to have)
  • Diploma or Bachelor's in Computer Science or related area of study from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience

  • Strong critical thinking, analytical skills and ability to think “out of the box” required.
  • Demonstrates problem-solving skills through engineering solutions.

  • Ability to work independently or within a team environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to effectively provide knowledge transfer to other members of the team
