Job Description:
The HPE Synergy Compute team is seeking to define and deliver the next generation architecture for HPE's embedded server management solution - HPE iLO.
We are looking for a creative problem solver for the Synergy Firmware team who can collaboratively solve some formidable architecture, system design, and security problems by helping to define and deliver the next gen architecture for HPE's Integrated Lights Out BMC (iLO). A successful candidate for this role will have a key influence in defining how HPE scopes, builds, and delivers this firmware. In addition, experience with compiled languages such as C, C++. This is a hands-on role in a high performing team where we will focus on delivering value, as well as troubleshoots and debugs software programs for software enhancements and new products. Determines hardware compatibility and/or influences hardware design.
Responsibilities:

Leads multiple project teams of other software systems engineers and internal and outsourced development partners responsible for all stages of design and development for complex products and platforms, including solution design, analysis, coding, testing, and integration.

Manages and expands relationships with internal and outsourced development partners on software systems design and development.

Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with systems design and development guidelines and standards; provides tangible feedback to improve product quality and mitigate failure risk.

Provides domain-specific expertise and overall software systems leadership and perspective to cross-organization projects, programs, and activities.

Drives innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and activities in the software systems design organization.

Provides guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members.
Education and Experience Required:
-
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.

6+ years experience of software/firmware development
Knowledge and Skills:
-
Extensive experience with multiple software systems design tools and languages.
-
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
-
Experience in overall architecture of software systems for products and solutions.
-
Designing and integrating software systems running on multiple platform types into overall architecture.
-
Evaluating forms and processes for software systems testing and methodology, including writing and execution of test plans, debugging, and testing scripts and tools.
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language. Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at senior management levels.
About You:

Software development experience with compiled languages such as C, C++, Python

Experience using and developing on Linux systems

Experience with GitHub source control workflows and methods

Experience with designing and maintaining thermal cooling profiles for Server products.

Experience with modern CI/CD/CT processes and agile methodologies

Willingness to experiment and tackle different challenges that arise

Effective communicator that can work well with a distributed team

Willingness to help unblock the team and deliver product features where needed

A healthy impatience to build and deliver products quickly
Nice to Have:

Firmware development experience

Experience with open-source projects

Understanding of HPE server management and standard protocols such as Redfish & REST

Experience with embedded devices such as (but not limited to) iLO and/or OpenBMC

Conceptual understanding of PID control systems and thermal management

USD Annual Salary: $117,500.00 - $270,000.00
