Senior Systems Engineer

Amentum is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the Space Force Range Contract (SFRC)

Essential Functions: 

• Serve as the Lead Systems Engineer (LSE) for assigned LTRS subsystem(s), managing issues including risk, subsystem anomalies, Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) cases. 

• Develop out-year plans (spend plans) and provide input for Government funding to address subsystem needs. 

• Provide project integration support from contract award through the final transition of Third-Party Developer (TPD) systems into the SFRC OM&S baseline. 

• Support the development of acquisition documentation (SOO, SOW, PWS) for TPD procurements and assist in Request for Proposal (RFP) development. 
• Develop high-level engineering project plans and assist Space Force Project Managers, Internal Project Managers, and Third-Party Project Managers with project schedule development.

• Define and write requirements for TPD contracts based on capabilities and operating concepts in support of SLD30. 

• Coordinate with Government customers and internal SFRC stakeholders. 

• Apply risk management principles to identify, assess, plan, and mitigate subsystem and LTRS risks. 

• Support or manage LTRS Risk Management Working Groups and Risk and Opportunity Management Boards (ROMBs). 

• Serve as an Integration Lead assigned to acquisition projects to oversee the integration and transition of new or modified systems ensuring they meet SFRC OM&S standards. 

• Manage and execute systems engineering processes to ensure continuity across the SFRC. 

• Assist in developing training tools and documentation for transitioning systems. 
• Assist Engineering Managers in prioritizing tasks to support mission needs.

Minimum Experience: 

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related STEM field. Master’s degree preferred.

• 8+ years of systems engineering experience or related engineering experience. 

• Fundamental knowledge of engineering lifecycle and systems engineering processes. CSEP Certification is preferred. 

• Proficiency with Windows-based computer systems and the Microsoft Office suite. 

• Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools (e.g., Cameo) is preferred. 
• Experience with Project Scheduling software such as MSProject, JIRA, or others. PMI certification is preferred.

• Flexibility to work occasional non-standard hours or weekends to support mission requirements. 

• Willingness to travel. 

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance (requires U.S. citizenship). 

• Valid U.S. Driver’s License.
