Qualis, LLC is looking for a full-time Senior Systems Engineer to work in the Space Domain Awareness (SDA) and Missile Warning (MW) mission area. The systems engineer will be a team member on an Agile Modeling and Simulation development team building high fidelity SDA radar models.
Responsibilities
The Senior Systems Engineer (SE) will work within a multi-discipline team of engineers providing engineering support that addresses our customers’ needs implementing current technology in the SDA and MW radars. The SE applies strong knowledge of systems engineering principles, processes, and methodologies to complex system development and integration activities. The SE will be a team member on an Agile Modeling and Simulation development team building high-fidelity SDA radar models. The SE will be a self-starter who works well both in teams and independently. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and robust attention to detail, organizational skills, and self-accountability. Additional responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Perform technical planning for total systems.
- Perform system integration activities.
- Perform system verification and validation and document acceptance test results, discrepancies, and dispositions.
- Conduct cost analyses.
- Conduct risk analyses.
- Conduct supportability analyses.
- Conduct system effectiveness analyses.
- Perform systems engineering analyses throughout the total system lifecycle, including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal.
- Convert customer or product requirements into total system solutions.
- Evaluate system solutions while acknowledging technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
- Perform functional analysis.
- Perform timeline analysis.
- Conduct detailed trade studies.
- Perform requirements allocation and maintain traceability through design, implementation, and verification evidence.
- Perform interface definition studies.
- Translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
- Maintain technical baselines and configuration records, coordinate approved changes, and support as-built system and operator documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain an Active DoD Security Clearance, preferably a Top Secret Security Clearance
- Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of relevant work experience (4 years with a master’s degree)
- Experience supporting defense, aerospace, space, radar, communications, missile, sensor, or other complex systems.
- Experience working with integrated hardware and software systems.
- Experience with requirements management and traceability tools.
- Experience supporting formal engineering or design reviews.
- Experience with system integration, test, verification, and validation.
- Familiarity with configuration management and technical baseline management.
- Experience working with government customers including the USAF and USSF
- Experience in the Space Domain Awareness mission area
