Summary Generated by Built In

The Allegro team is united by a clear purpose—advancing technologies that make the world safer, more efficient, and more sustainable. With over 30 years of experience in semiconductor innovation, we bring that purpose to life across every part of the business—from breakthrough product development and customer success to how we show up for each other and the communities we serve.

The Opportunity

Robotics – and particularly the rapidly accelerating humanoid market – is an essential growth vector for Allegro MicroSystems. As a Systems Engineer, Robotics within our Industrial Business Segment (IBS) Corporate Strategy Team, you will have a direct impact on strengthening Allegro's position in this exciting new frontier.
In this role, you will sit at the intersection of hands-on engineering and strategic marketing. You will be a creative technical force that evaluates our newest Sensing and Power products and brings them to life through compelling, real-world robotics demonstrations. We are offering a tremendous opportunity for a passionate mechatronics engineer to help shape the future of robotics at Allegro.

What You Will Do

Robotics Prototyping & Demo Development

  • Act as a creative mind of the team by conceptualizing, designing, and building meaningful robotics demonstrations (e.g., humanoid joint actuators, dexterous hands) that showcase Allegro’s capabilities.

  • Apply your hands-on mechatronics expertise to integrate Allegro's motor drivers, magnetic sensors, and power management ICs into functional robotic sub-systems.

Technical Evaluation & Lab Analysis

  • Execute hardware evaluation. Calibration, and debugging on innovative new sensing and power products.

  • Benchmark system-level performance (e.g., control loop latency, torque estimation, sensor accuracy) to ensure our solutions meet the demands of modern robotics and humanoid applications.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Marketing Support

  • Partner closely with Marketing, Product Line teams, and external stakeholders to translate complex lab data into high-impact technical marketing collateral.

  • Serve as a collaborative team player and technical subject matter expert, bridging the gap between R&D, product strategy, and customer-facing demonstrations.

What You Will Bring

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.

  • Familiarity with robotic control systems, kinematics, motion planning, and AI/ML-enabled systems.

  • Hardware and mechatronics: foundation in circuit design, component selection, PCB layout and debug workflows, and electromechanical systems (sensors/actuators).

  • Embedded and programming: familiarity with microcontrollers and experience in C and Python for testing and integration.

  • Entry-level to 5 years of professional experience in robotics, mechatronics, or electronics engineering.

  • A deep, demonstrable passion for the robotics industry, with a keen interest in the evolving humanoid landscape.

  • Creative Problem Solver: you love brainstorming out-of-the-box ideas for new products and ways to demonstrate technology.

  • Exceptional Communicator: you can distil highly technical lab results into clear, compelling stories and marketing materials.

  • Collaborative Team Player: you thrive in highly interactive environments and build strong relationships with both internal teams and external partners.

  • Technical growth: you are willing to stay current with developments in robotics, embedded systems, and engineering tools.

This role will be located in Manchester NH USA, Annecy, France, or Milano, Italy.
