We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for one of our PRIME CONTRACTS and offers exciting opportunities to support essential services and mission critical activities across the enterprise. This role will provide Systems Engineering support to the Network Security Services organization by assisting multiple programs with requirements analysis, workflow management, risk assessment tracking, approval processes, and lifecycle status reporting. The position will support the continuous improvement of business processes and workflow automation capabilities, primarily leveraging Atlassian Jira and Confluence.
Specifically, the role will:
- Analyze and validate data collected in support of requests and ensure the integrity of information throughout the workflow lifecycle.
- Evaluate existing business processes and workflows, identify opportunities for improvement, and collaborate with stakeholders to design and document process enhancements.
- Configure and maintain workflow processes, business rules, and automations within Jira to support operational requirements and improve efficiency.
- Develop metrics, dashboards, and reports to provide visibility into request status, workload, performance trends, and key program indicators for stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Maintain, enhance, and optimize Jira workflows, project configurations, and supporting processes.
- Develop an understanding of existing Jira implementations and identify opportunities to streamline operations and improve scalability.
- Work directly with customers and stakeholders to gather requirements and tailor workflow solutions to meet mission and business needs.
- Develop and maintain workflow automations to reduce manual effort, improve consistency, and support organizational growth.
- Collaborate with corporate service teams to transition locally developed capabilities into enterprise solutions where appropriate.
- Develop and maintain workflow diagrams, process documentation, and change management artifacts.
- Support program meetings, status reviews, and working groups by tracking schedules, milestones, deliverables, risks, issues, dependencies, and action items.
- Coordinate with authentication and authorization teams to ensure appropriate access controls and data protection measures are implemented.
- Assist with administration of Jira and Confluence projects, including user access, permissions, and space management.
Maintain and enhance Confluence knowledge bases and documentation repositories to support organizational knowledge sharing and process consistency.
Required Qualifications:
- TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph
- A bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and twenty (20) years of experience as a Systems Engineer supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity. Twenty-five (25) years of relevant Systems Engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
- Experience using and administering Atlassian Jira and Confluence to support engineering, development, or program management activities.
- Experience creating, maintaining, and improving workflows, dashboards, reports, and automations within Jira or similar workflow management tools.
- Experience developing Jira automations, dashboards, metrics, and executive-level reporting.
- Experience gathering, documenting, and managing requirements while working directly with customers and stakeholders to define priorities, acceptance criteria, and desired outcomes.
- Experience developing and maintaining technical documentation, project schedules, process documentation, and status reporting artifacts.
- Experience supporting Agile software development teams and facilitating collaboration across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience managing user roles, permissions, and access controls within enterprise applications.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to identify process improvements and implement practical solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting technical information and recommendations to program leadership and Government stakeholders.

The estimated salary range for this position is between $210,000-$260,000 (annualized USD). This range reflects the typical pay for the role and is one part of the company's comprehensive compensation package. Actual salaries are influenced by several factors, such as location, the individual’s education, skills, experience, and competencies, as well as contract affordability and organizational needs.
