These requirements will be broken down into clear, actionable sub-system requirements and followed through validation.

You will be responsible for maintaining, tracking, and evaluating requirement validation results, working closely with cross-functional engineering teams including mechanical, electrical, software, and simulation disciplines.

In this role, you may lead the system development of a product in development or one already in production. Your work will be centered on ensuring functionality, performance, and safety of the battery system.

Key responsibilities

  • Define, maintain, and follow up system requirements for development and validation

  • Hold overall functional responsibility for the system

  • Facilitate trade-off decisions when requirements are conflicting or not fully met

  • Drive system development in collaboration with internal teams, departments, and external suppliers

  • Apply systems engineering and management principles to optimize solutions within constraints of performance, schedule, and cost across the entire product life cycle

  • Ensure requirements from industry-specific standards are implemented in the system design

Education & experience

  • BS or MS degree in a relevant technical field (e.g. Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Science)

  • 8+ years of relevant engineering experience

  • Experience from the automotive or battery/BMS industry is highly preferred
