The Work You'll Do
As a Senior Systems Engineer (Cloud System), you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of Sovos’ cloud-based services and infrastructure. You will drive continuous improvement in cloud governance, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement best practices and enforce compliance. Your technical expertise will influence design and implementation, while your mentorship will help elevate team standards. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to automation efforts, enhance platform reliability, and support the ongoing evolution of Sovos’ cloud environment.

More specifically, you will:

• Design, implement, and maintain reliable cloud infrastructure and services
• Develop and enforce governance policies and procedures for cloud environments
• Monitor system performance, identify issues, and implement solutions to improve reliability
• Automate repetitive tasks to enhance efficiency and reduce manual intervention
• Collaborate with global technology, development, and operations teams to ensure compliance and optimal performance
• Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure adherence to governance standards
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship on cloud governance best practices
• Promote the use of automation tools for product quality and security

What We Need From You

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Proven experience in site reliability engineering, cloud infrastructure, and governance
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Desirable: FinOps and CI/CD knowledge
• Strong English communication skills
• Proficiency in scripting and automation tools like Python, Terraform, or Ansible
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to interact effectively with teammates, colleagues, and customers
• Capacity to comprehend and communicate complex concepts and resolve technical challenges
