Zoox is seeking a Senior System Test Execution Lead to play a critical role in the operationalization of test execution within our System Integration and Validation team. As the Senior Test Execution Lead, you will spearhead a team responsible for executing complex testing to validate the successful integration of autonomy, firmware, hardware, cloud infrastructure, and operational elements.
In this role, you will ensure that test execution across a variety of test environments — including on-vehicle, closed track, and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulations — is efficient, effective, and aligned with key milestones. Your leadership will provide the necessary data to ensure our products meet rigorous safety standards, satisfy customer requirements, and are ready for each development phase.
In this role, you will:
- Lead a team of test conductors toward the execution of core test events
- Manage the schedule and performance of the test execution team
- Develop core processes to streamline test execution
- Ensure execution of on-vehicle, closed track, and hardware in the loop test requests
- Report test efficiency metrics, and develop initiatives to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of Zoox test efforts
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or STEM-related field
- 8+ years of industry experience in testing complex systems (AI, autonomous behavior, modeling, simulation, or vehicle platforms)
- Previous direct leadership or supervision experience
- Experience with designing, developing, and executing test methodologies and test procedures that scale across multiple teams and assets
- Integrated systems troubleshooting experience
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience with on-vehicle test execution
- Experience with Hardware in the Loop (HIL) and/or Simulation in the Loop (SIL)
- Experience with project management, testing, and issue reporting tools (e.g. Jira, SmartSheet, TestRail, Looker, etc.)
Compensation
There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $185,000 to $220,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
