Horse Technologies is part of Horse Powertrain Limited – an independent new powertrain solutions business, with over 125 years of heritage from Renault and Geely. We develop and produce world-class hybrid and combustion engines and transmissions to move our industry forward, offering many different paths to net zero.
This role is employed by Horse Technologies Division and is based in Valladolid , with occasional travel possible to Horse Powertrain’s other sites.

What you will do
Own the full lifecycle of a battery system within hybrid powertrain solutions, from innovation to mass production and aftersales.
Define and drive the system strategic roadmap, balancing stakeholder needs across technology, quality, and cost.
Lead system definition, architecture, design, validation, and industrialization activities.
Ensure system development meets technical, regulatory, safety, and performance requirements following V-cycle / ISO 15288 processes.
Translate system requirements into component and software specifications, leading system engineering teams.
Oversee system sizing, including simulation planning, validation, and testing activities.
Drive development of new system functionalities, including definition, risk analysis, integration, and validation.
What we’re looking for
A proven track record of, at least 3 years, in system engineering for automotive electrical/electronic systems and hybrid powertrain development
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or similar (Master’s degree is a plus)
Excellent skills in requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS) and system modeling (e.g., SysML / MBSE)
Strong competencies in system integration & validation (MIL, SIL, HIL) and functional safety analysis, with a collaborative approach
Knowledge of the automotive sector, Horse Powertrain business, and our ambition to transform the industry
Excellent command of English and Spanish, both spoken and written.

Skills Required
- Master's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Automotive Engineering or Systems Engineering
- More than 5 years' experience in automotive systems engineering
- System engineering experience in automotive or similar industries
- Experience with engineering requirements management tools (DOORS, MagicDraw)
- Experience with modeling languages (SysML) and big data
- Good command of English
- Knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink
- Experience with MBSE tools (Cameo)
- HARA (hazard analysis) and ISO 26262 knowledge
- Big data analysis and data-query skills
- Automotive E/E architecture knowledge (CAN, LIN, Ethernet)
- Body Control Module, Power Distribution Unit (PDU) and SmartMOS switching experience
- HW/SW system integration and validation experience (MIL/SIL/HIL)
- Power mode management and vehicle state machine experience
- Electrical protection strategies (fuses, solid-state switching) knowledge
