Description
What You'll Do:
Looking for an opportunity to apply your technical expertise to a mission that matters, this is it. As the Senior System Administrator, you will support the systems and technologies that power the Navy's premier Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) training environment. By integrating real-world platforms with advanced simulations, this mission recreates the most sophisticated threats facing our warfighters to deliver realistic, high-end combat training that cannot be achieved in the real world alone.
As part of our team, you will directly contribute to mission readiness, helping ensure that U.S. and allied forces are trained, tested, and prepared to succeed in the most demanding operational environments.
This position will be based at the NAS Oceana Dam Neck Annex in Virginia Beach, VA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administering Windows and Linux servers in support of simulation, modeling, training, and mission-planning applications.
- Managing VMware, Hyper-V, or cloud-based virtualization environments.
- Maintaining enterprise storage solutions, backup systems, and disaster recovery capabilities.
- Performing system patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management.
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining simulation software and supporting middleware.
- Supporting distributed training environments connecting multiple training sites.
- Configuring and maintaining application servers supporting LVC exercises.
- Ensuring systems are properly synchronized and configured for large-scale training events.
- Implementing and maintaining RMF controls and STIG compliance.
- Conducting vulnerability remediation and security hardening.
- Providing operational support during major fleet exercises and training events.
- Coordinating with engineers and operators to restore services during mission-critical events.
This description outlines the general nature and scope of the role. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
