JOB TITLE Senior Supply Planner

DEPARTMENT: Global Supply Planning and Logistics

Reports to: Master Supply Planner (Manager)

FLSA Status: Exempt

The objective of the Product Supply Planning team is to deliver sustainable supply to our global business (Americas, EMEA & APAC), whilst driving change that enables profitable growth. 

Our team will continually be managing and planning the flow of goods (from buy to make to last miles), information and finances decisions across the ResMed global supply chain network to meet customer demands through driving effective demand supportability while optimizing costs and resources. Key to success in this role is defined by balancing customer service (Demand Supportability), with optimal inventory management, and cost to serve expectations. Strong engagement with the business leaders, nurture cross functional relationship and be the driver of high performing team with scalable system and business processes will be required from you.

The Product Supply Planning team also brings value to the ResMed business by effectively planning product lifecycle, ensuring the effective launch of new and innovative products, whilst managing the obsolescence of end-of-life products.


Job Description

As a Senior Supply Planner you will ensure efficient execution of buy, make and move planning activities for the supply of products within your portfolio that exceed the expectations of our business. You are responsible for developing and implementing supply planning approach to ensure optimal inventory levels, efficient production schedules, and timely delivery of products. This role involves close collaboration with various departments, including Global Supplier Alliances, manufacturing, logistics, and sales, to align supply chain activities with business objectives. The Senior Supply Planner will analyze data and forecast demand, and manage supply chain risks to enhance overall supply chain performance.

As a Senior Planner, you will act as a mentor the Supply Planners and be expected to act as a delegate to the Master Supply Planner where required.

Responsibilities

  • Team inspiration and Leadership:
    • Create a motivating environment to improve and grow within the functional role through continuous engagement, timely feedforward and improvement of workload balance.
    • Continually participate on mentorship program for personal talent development and positive team culture
    • Contribute to a culture of development & growth within your product supply planning team, by challenging and supporting your Master Supply Planner and other team members to think creatively and be bold in proposing solutions to supply headwind.
  • Collaborative Supply Planning:
    • Highlights the drivers for forecast changes obtain from Demand Planner and adjust supply plans accordingly to meet demand supportability and customer delivery requirement. Proactively communicate the impact of these changes to the team and relevant stakeholder including suppliers.
    • Identify supply constraints and provide risks mitigation pathway through the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) process for relevant product category and drive velocity of decision from stakeholder to enable right prioritisation for the business.
    • Ensure appropriate monitoring and management of supply risks mitigation with relevant stakeholders.
    • Liaise with Supply Planning Coordinator on Work Order changes beyond frozen period.
    • Represent Product Supply Planning team and lead supply chain conversation in meetings with cross functional team, including On Hold meetings as required. Share outcome of the meeting to Product Supply Planning team for data driven decision making.
    • Established process for flow of information from Logistics team pertaining to moderate and major changes to inbound materials and outbound finish goods that enable effective planning.
  • Delivering Supply Velocity:
    • Optimise preparation and review with Master Supply Planner of mid-term production plan to meet weekly demand supportability and discuss impact with relevant Operations stakeholders.
    • Override sub-assemblies in o9 as needed to manage downstream supply requirement.
    • Streamline preparation of mid to long term materials requirements and short to midterm production plan to support the product portfolio in your area to enable supply scheduler to execute the work orders and purchase orders.
    • Deliver targeted financial outcomes through optimal inventory management and cost to buy/make/serve to ensure product prioritisation by SKU and balance manufacturing output that meet customer delivery requirement.
    • Monitor work order and purchase order performance align with team goal.
    • Defines and ensures optimal use of Advanced Planning system and end to end supply chain system for product supply planning team, including maintenance of data (planning parameters includes lead time management, safety stocks, lot sizes etc.)
    • Management of product changes in your portfolio including Engineering Change Note management to ensure minimal cost impact via active review and discussion with relevant cross functional team.
    • Recommend exception freight modes and obtain timely approvals to close demand supportability gap, whilst considering business impacts e.g. revenue loss vs freight cost and margin
    • Obtain information of New Product launch and product obsolescence from Product Lifecycle Planning Lead to enable robust planning and impactful conversation with Product Led team for profitable growth.
    • Execute urgent purchase orders and changes as needed by site if Supply Schedulers are unavailable due to leave or holidays
  • Change Management Proficiency:
    • Fast adopter of organizational change and evolution, applying curiosity and critical thinking to increase business acumen.
  • Planning Excellence:
    • Identify opportunities and drive initiatives to improve productivity and cost for product supply planning
    • Ensures through ongoing learning, high level of proficiency in use of Advanced Planning system and ERP
    • Impactful collaborator with Transformation Process Lead to challenge process status quo and drive change for transformation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field. Advanced degree or certification (e.g., APICS CPIM) is desirable.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Supply Chain Planning, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of Advanced Planning and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, o9) and advanced Excel skills for data analysis and modeling.
  • Strategic mindset, with demonstrated end-to-end critical thinking.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to lead, motivate and inspire a team to deliver business goals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proven experience in leading cross-functional collaborations with key stakeholders.
  • High degree of accountability and a track record of delivery excellence.
