Are you an experienced supply planning professional who can look beyond day-to-day replenishment and make a broader impact on planning performance?
At Vanderlande, we are looking for a Senior Supply Planner who combines strong demand, supply and inventory planning expertise with independent decision making, end-to-end thinking and the ability to drive structural improvement.
What you will do
As a Senior Supply Planner, you will report to the Team Leader Inbound Logistics. The Inbound Logistics team translates customer demand, business insights and system-generated forecasts into inventory and replenishment plans. The team monitors supply and demand, manages planning parameters and inventory levels, and converts replenishment requirements into Purchase Order proposals.
In this senior role, you will operate as an independent planning professional. You will validate and challenge demand and planning signals, make well-founded supply and inventory decisions, and proactively manage risks and exceptions.
You will help strengthen the team’s transition from a transactional ordering approach towards a more data-driven and forward-looking planning process. Your impact extends beyond your own portfolio: you will work across functions, drive structural improvements, coach colleagues and contribute to the further development of integrated planning and S&OP within Global Spare Parts.
Responsibilities
Your primary objective is to maximize customer availability and fill rate while balancing inventory value and minimizing obsolescence risk. You will manage and balance demand and supply, making independent planning decisions and proactively managing supply and inventory risks.
Using your planning expertise and analytical skills, you will identify root causes, improve planning performance and create alignment across the end-to-end supply chain.
Your responsibilities include:
- Managing and balancing demand and supply by challenging forecasts, demand signals and system-generated planning recommendations and translating them into inventory and replenishment plans
- Optimizing inventory and planning parameters, including safety stocks, lead times, service levels, reorder points and item classifications, while balancing availability, inventory value and obsolescence risk
- Making independent planning decisions and proactively identifying, assessing and mitigating supply and inventory risks, escalating complex issues when required
- Using data and KPIs to safeguard planning inputs and outputs, identify root causes and drive structural improvements in processes, methods and tools
- Acting as a senior planning partner across functions and levels, explaining complex issues, challenging assumptions and creating fact-based alignment
- Applying an end-to-end perspective, coaching colleagues and developing and sharing planning best practices across teams, while contributing to S&OP
About the team
As a Senior Supply Planner, you will be part of the Global Spare Parts team. The Spare Parts department has global responsibility for the marketing, procurement, sales, planning, and delivery of Vanderlande’s material handling spare parts.
The department is divided into three sub-teams:
- Logistics: responsible for supply planning, ordering, warehousing, and outbound logistics of spare parts. You will be part of this team.
- Parts Marketing and Sales Solutions: responsible for master data, product management, and sales order management and support.
- Strategy and Transformation: focused on developing strategy and executing strategy-related projects and changes.
What you bring
To be successful in this role, you combine strong planning expertise with the ability to operate independently and create impact beyond your own area of responsibility:
- A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent level of expertise gained through relevant work experience
- 5–7 years of relevant planning experience, with a strong background in Supply Planning, Inventory Planning or a comparable planning role
- Strong knowledge of supply and inventory planning, including safety stock, lead times, service levels, reorder points, item classification and obsolescence
- Experience with Demand Planning or working closely with a Demand Planning process, including validating and challenging forecasts and translating demand insights into supply and inventory decisions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make independent, evidence-based planning decisions, manage risks and drive structural improvements
- An end-to-end mindset and strong stakeholder skills, with the ability to challenge constructively, influence decisions and create alignment across functions and organizational levels
- Experience in coaching colleagues, sharing planning expertise and developing or implementing best practices
- Experience with S&OP, IBP or a comparable integrated planning process is a strong advantage; experience in facilitating cross-functional planning meetings is a plus.
- Experience with Slimstock/Slim4 is desirable.
- Excellent command of the English language.
