ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Supplier Quality Engineer reports to Sr. Manager, Quality Supply Chain and works across the Juul organization and with contract manufacturers and component suppliers to execute high level quality management and manufacturing process excellence, assure sustaining quality and regulatory compliance, and lead qualification and validation activities for New Product Introduction and Sustaining Engineering projects. The candidate is required a dynamic, highly motivated individual with experience in manufacturing quality control, supplier development and management, equipment qualification and process validation etc., in vape, medical device or a related area. This position will be based in East of China but needs domestic and overseas travel when necessary.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interface directly with contract manufacturers and component suppliers to establish and sustain the high-level quality standards and TPMP compliant control
- Ensure activities across functional teams comply with change control, record control, traceability system design, non-conforming product control, etc.
- Lead the effort to manage and improve manufacturing processes and implement best production practices in suppliers
- Author and execute equipment qualification and process validation protocols across suppliers and contract manufacturers
- Provide quality updates and dashboards of projects
- Collecting data and compile opportunities for improvement across supplier manufacturing sites, supporting execution to completion
- Identify potential problems and improvements with design of new products, specifications, and components. Anticipate potential problems, identify and resolve performance issues and problems that affect reliability and quality
- Perform related duties as assigned, within your scope of practice
PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years relevant quality experience of supplier management in vape, medical device or other related industry high production volume products
- Strong technical background in high level assembly and testing, automation manufacturing process, mechanical component design, molding, stamping, CNC, plating etc.
- Experience working with internal design and project teams, writing qualification/validation protocols and reports, inspection plans, and quality procedures etc.
- Experience using statistical data analysis to provide in-depth understanding and risk assessments of designs and manufacturing processes
- Strong ability to lead supplier development and new project launch, trouble shooting and quality improvement. Work in a fast-paced environment with multiple concurrent priorities
- Be an excellent collaborator across teams, functions, organizational boundaries inside and outside of Juul. Ability to leverage a diverse set of people, opinions and backgrounds to produce excellent results
- Strong strategic thinking, verbal and written communication skills, English is one of main working language
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
- BS and above in Mechanical Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related technical field preferred
- ISO13485 internal/lead auditor preferred
- Six Sigma certification (green / black belt) preferred

Skills Required
- 5+ years relevant supplier quality management experience in vape, medical device, or high-volume manufacturing
- Strong technical background in assembly and testing, automation manufacturing processes, mechanical component design
- Experience with molding, stamping, CNC, plating and related manufacturing processes
- Authoring and executing equipment qualification and process validation protocols and reports
- Experience writing inspection plans, quality procedures, and working with change control and traceability systems
- Experience using statistical data analysis for risk assessments of designs and manufacturing processes
- Proven ability to lead supplier development, new project launches, troubleshooting and quality improvements
- Excellent collaboration, strategic thinking, verbal and written communication skills; English proficiency
- BS or above in Mechanical Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related technical field
- ISO13485 internal/lead auditor
- Six Sigma certification (Green or Black Belt)
- Authorization to work for Juul Labs in the US (must be authorized)
