DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop and implement methods for process control, improvement, testing, and inspection to ensure defect-free products that meet Allegion’s standards.
• Conduct on-site assessments across the APAC region to evaluate supplier capabilities for new sourcing activities to deliver quality components and mitigate risks.
• Ensures quality KPI’s are improved and maintained, understands and supports commodity management’s strategic initiatives, and fosters solid working relationships between suppliers and Allegion.
• Support New Product Development (NPD) programs by leading Advanced Quality Planning (AQP) reviews, including PPAP, Key Characteristics Matrix, Tooling Risk Assessments, safe launch control, and run-at-rate activities.
• Ensure timely and accurate submission of PPAP documentation and drive flawless launches for key components.
• Analyze defective products and supplier reports, lead cross-functional teams in 8D problem solving, and ensure effective corrective actions are implemented. • Collaborate with suppliers to improve processes through capability studies, FMEA, MSAs/GRRs, control plans, and error-proofing techniques.
• Provide technical oversight to suppliers, driving continuous improvement initiatives and ensuring alignment with Allegion’s quality standards.
• Train internal teams and suppliers on quality tools, processes, and procedures to promote consistent application and understanding of Allegion’s requirements.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Procurement, and Manufacturing, to resolve quality issues and support supplier rationalization initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field is required.
• 5-8 years of Quality Engineering experience with increasing responsibility in the areas of Quality, Supplier Quality, Supplier Management, or a related field, including at least 2 years of direct manufacturing, in-plant experience.
• Demonstrated program management experience and proficiency in process improvement and problem-solving tools and methodologies such as APQP, Lean, Six Sigma, PPAP, 8D, FMEA, and VAVE.
• Solid understanding of Quality Management Systems, including ISO 9001 and/or IATF 16949.
• Experience in an international, matrixed organization is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and statistical analysis software.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with and influence stakeholders in a matrix organization with strong international exposure.
• Active knowledge of electronic and/or mechanical manufacturing processes and assembly.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written); multilingual capabilities are considered a strong asset.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%, often on short notice.
