The Team
The Global Delivery division is responsible for onboarding all new clients onto Clearwater's SaaS platform. Our Client Onboarding organization spans multiple verticals — Software Implementation, Subject Matter Expertise, and Managed Services — and serves as the face of Clearwater to our global investment management client base, including portfolio managers, traders, and operational users. These teams are the central point of contact across internal Clearwater functions including Product, Technology, and Account Management, guiding clients through every phase of the project lifecycle.
The Role
The Managed Services Implementation Manager is responsible for onboarding Middle and Back-Office services to our diverse, global investment management client base. Clearwater's Managed Services team performs oversight and operational tasks on behalf of clients, including shadow accounting, portfolio valuation, daily and monthly reconciliations against third-party custodians and administrators, setup of non-trading accruals, post-trade management including T+0 affirmation and proactive counterparty correspondence to resolve trade breaks, cash processing, and collateral management. This role bridges deep operational expertise with Clearwater's core platform capabilities — aggregate, reconcile, report — to deliver a seamless and scalable client experience.
What You'll Do
Serve as the client's primary point of contact for all implementation activity related to Outsourced Middle and Back-Office Services, managing expectations and communicating progress throughout the engagement.
Consult with clients to align their current and target-state business processes with Clearwater's platform capabilities, with a focus on operational efficiency and adherence to industry best practices.
Troubleshoot reconciliation, P&L, and accounting issues — including instrument setup, valuation, pricing, and general ledger reconciliation — applying Clearwater's core offering of Accounting, Compliance, Risk, and Performance reporting.
Collaborate closely with internal teams including Conversion, Software Implementation, Development, and Managed Operations to ensure a smooth transition for new Services clients.
Partner with third-party custodians, administrators, and counterparties to obtain required reporting and establish accurate internal reconciliation workflows.
Prioritize and escalate issues appropriately, keeping clients and internal stakeholders informed with timely, accurate status updates.
Maintain accurate project and task-level status within Clearwater's internal project management systems (including Clarizen, Salesforce, and JIRA), and report regularly to leadership on deliverable health and business impact.
Identify product gaps and partner with Product Management and Development teams to enhance Clearwater's Managed Services offering and streamline the onboarding experience.
Develop and maintain implementation best practices; document SOPs, standards, and procedures, and actively contribute to process automation and scalability initiatives.
Share knowledge through training materials, thought leadership, and cross-team collaboration — contributing to a global delivery organization that spans analysts, team leads, and program managers.
What You'll Need
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Financial Mathematics, or a related field; advanced degree a plus.
7+ years of experience in a Middle or Back-Office support role at a hedge fund, prime broker, fund administrator, or investment management firm.
Strong understanding of investment accounting policies and procedures, including knowledge of Equities, Fixed Income, structured products, derivatives, and alternatives.
Experience with General Ledger systems (e.g., Workday, PeopleSoft) and period-end close processes.
Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies; experience with Clarizen, Salesforce, or JIRA is a plus.
Previous client-facing experience, ideally within institutional investment management or hedge fund contexts.
Exceptional attention to detail, analytical rigor, and documentation discipline.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple workstreams simultaneously, working both independently and as part of a global collaborative team.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; confident presenter and client advisor.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with proven Excel skills for reconciliation and data analysis work.
