What You Will Do 

As a Strategy & Business Transformation Senior Consultant, you will provide business transformation and program strategy support for an emergency management client. Our management consulting professionals help our clients identify, evaluate, and solve some of their most complex challenges, assisting them in achieving their strategic goals and objectives to fulfill their mission and comply with Federal laws and regulations. The candidate must be adaptable and able to navigate teams through complex organizational dynamics, while recognizing client needs and challenges as they ariseIndividuals will engage in a diverse set of project-specific tasks covering a broad set of business transformation and strategic capabilities. 

 

Duties will include: 

  • Facilitate strategic leadership alignment workshops and planning  

  • Document existing business processes and design new processes to improve the operations of an organization  

  • Develop recommendations for streamlining numerous business processes/operations 

  • Develop a unified program strategy leveraging best practices, new ideas, and lessons learned from previous engagements

  • Present insights and recommendations for client prioritization and investment 

  • Develop and present recommended plans of action for client action 

  • Support implementation of short-, medium-, and long-term approved recommendations 

  • Support a team with consolidating and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data to support data-driven decision-making 

  • Create an inclusive and participatory atmosphere that encourages active engagement from all participants. Use techniques to manage group dynamics and ensure that all voices are heard and respected 

  • Design and develop high-level communications products and strategies 

  • Understand complex policy and regulations and work with groups to clarify meeting content and design to drive toward key decisions and stakeholder buy-in 

  • Develop and deliver effective strategic communications concepts and develop end-to-end meeting resources, including the strategy, preparation documents, facilitation guides, presentations, graphics, after action reports, etc. 

  • Establish a process to monitor, assess, and report on progress towards goals outlined in the unified program strategy 

  • Mentor and supporting clients through process improvement initiatives 

 

What You Will Need 

  • Must be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD "PUBLIC TRUST"; candidates must obtain approved adjudication of their PUBLIC TRUST prior to onboarding with Guidehouse. Candidates with an ACTIVE PUBLIC TRUST or SUITABILITY are preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree

  • FIVE (5) years of experience in business analysis, project/program management, strategy consulting or business transformation

  • Ability to work at client site in Washington, DC at least 3 days/week

What Would Be Nice to Have 

  • An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED "TOP SECRET" Federal or DoD security clearance

  • Ability to execute across a variety of tasks simultaneously

  • Experience in consulting  

  • Direct experience or familiarity with FEMA or emergency management

  • Experience applying project management concepts   

  • Possess a critical thinking mindset to identify and solve problems independently and with fellow team members 

  • Ability to design meeting strategies to achieve client goals and facilitate group decision-making around complex policy concepts   

  • Ability as a strong, detail-oriented writer and editor, with capability to deliver quality content for a variety of audiences comfortably and confidently 

  • Strong ability to think strategically, analyze complex issues, and provide creative solutions 

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment 

The annual salary range for this position is $98,000.00-$163,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
