Job Description

A bit about the job

We’re looking for an excellent Senior Strategist to join our marketing team and drive the direction of our creative across Asia. This is a superb opportunity for a strategic thinker with a passion for creative excellence and digital channels to make a significant impact in the fast-paced world of fintech.

As a key member of our Marketing Strategy team, you will be the bridge between deep cultural insight and creative action. You won't just rely on third-party reports; you will be the one talking to customers, running the surveys, and uncovering the "why" behind the data.

You are a master of simplifying the complex, skilled at taking ambiguous business problems and translating them into clear, actionable paths forward for creative teams. You will partner closely with our in-house teams and external agencies to guide creative development from the initial spark of insight through to execution.

You will have a strong grasp of the modern media landscape in Asia, understanding how brands show up on platforms like LINE, WeChat, TikTok, Reddit, YouTube, and ATL channels. This is a role based in our Singapore office, focused on markets across Asia including Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, and India.

What you’ll be doing

  • Consumer Research & Insight: You will be the voice of the consumers living in Asia. You will design, execute, and analyse primary research (e.g., customer interviews, focus groups, surveys) to uncover cultural nuances and barriers to adoption in specific Asian markets.

  • Translating Insight into Strategy: You will take raw research findings and performance data to diagnose specific communication problems. You will ensure we aren't just translating ads from other markets, but creating culturally relevant narratives that resonate locally.

  • Authoring Creative Briefs: You will write clear, sharp, and inspiring creative briefs. You are the translation layer that turns a complex consumer insight into a simple proposition that excites our creative teams and agencies.

  • Overseeing Creative Development: Acting as the strategic guardian throughout the production process, ensuring the work remains on-brief and culturally accurate. You will provide feedback to creatives to ensure the work hits the sweet spot between "brand building" and "performance."

  • Championing Creative Effectiveness: Partnering with analysts to design creative testing frameworks (pre-testing and live A/B testing). You will look at the numbers to see if your insights held true, and use those learnings to optimize future campaigns.

  • Fostering Collaboration: Building tight relationships with creative, media, and regional teams to ensure our strategies are brought to life effectively and consistently across all markets.

Qualifications

What you’ll bring to the role

  • A hybrid background: A proven track record as a Creative Strategist, Planner, or Insight Lead, with specific experience in Asian markets.

  • Hands-on Data Skills: You don’t just read data; you know how to get it. Experience running qualitative and quantitative research (writing discussion guides, moderating user interviews, setting up surveys) is essential.

  • Analytical Confidence: A high degree of comfort with numbers and campaign measurement. You can synthesize ambiguous data and complex information (including creative testing) into simple, powerful ideas.

  • Market Experience: Proven track record in developing and executing creative marketing strategies specifically for the Japan, SE Asia, or India markets. Candidates should possess deep knowledge of the local digital landscapes and consumer behaviors in these regions. You understand why a campaign that works in the UK might fail in Tokyo or Mumbai, and what to pivot to instead.

  • Brief Writing Excellence: Extensive experience writing insightful creative briefs that have led to high-performing work across a range of media channels.

  • Creative Oversight: Demonstrable experience managing creative agencies or in-house teams to deliver high-quality work. You have a keen eye for creative and the confidence to give constructive feedback.

  • Growth Mindset: A solid understanding of the full marketing funnel and how to develop creative strategies that drive commercial results (customer acquisition) in a fintech or tech environment.

What’s in it for you?

You’ll be part of a team of exceptionally talented marketers who consistently break new ground in the way they engage customers.

Within Wise we operate in a flat structure, you’ll be in charge of your own workload and focus areas, giving you the chance to have a huge impact in one of the world's fastest growing & most successful fintechs.

Salary: SGD 8,100 - 12,500 monthly + RSUs
