Job Description

In this role, you will be responsible for relationship management of Ameriprise third party asset management product partner relationships with the goal of maximizing alignment between asset manager sales and marketing efforts and key initiatives within Ameriprise. You will also drive business results across product lines and platforms through deeper partner firm engagement and more effective sales and marketing efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and manage business relationships with external firm representatives and proactively integrate their goals and priorities into business segment initiatives across the company.

  • Build and maintain relationships with internal business partners (Investment Research Group, ABDG, Marketing, Conferences/Field Execution, Compliance, etc.)

  • Understand third party asset manager value-add content to increase usage in the field, drive partner firm participation at conferences and manage opportunities for various marketing channels.

  • Arrange, lead and attend on-site meetings between internal partners and representatives from asset managers, developing effective agendas to promote our strategic initiatives and drive aligned outcomes

  • Collaborate with product managers across Investment Product Solutions team in managing partner firm relationships related to other products including Signature Wealth, Separately Managed Accounts, Active ETF’s, in addition to other product lines.

  • Lead and support improvements to business processes and procedures via a thorough knowledge of third-party asset management firm offerings and competitive landscape across the industry

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 7+ years’ experience in retail wealth management or asset management

  • FINRA Series 7 or ability to obtain within 120 days

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated track record of forming strong relationships with third parties and ability to leverage those relationships to achieve common goals

  • Ability to influence, lead and collaborate with others at all levels to drive results.  

  • Working knowledge of a variety of retail investments including mutual funds, SMAs, ETFs, and alternative investments

  • Strong analytic, negotiation and organizational skills with ability to manage multiple competing priorities. 

  • Detail-orientated self-starter with exceptional interactive people skills

  • Proven leadership in the areas of relationships, problem solving and driving results with a demonstrated desire for attainment of expert knowledge.      

  • Possess the ability to quickly understand complex or ambiguous issues; troubleshoot.

  • Demonstrated strong decision making in a changing environment.      

  • Experience working and communicating with advisors as well as vendor firms.

Base Pay Salary

The estimated base salary for this role is $93,400 - $128,400 / year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role. We also have a competitive and comprehensive benefits program that supports all aspects of your health and well-being, including but not limited to vacation time, sick time, 401(k), and health, dental and life insurances.
