As Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for two complementary areas of accountability:
~60% Operational Project Management: leading customer-facing high complexity GIS projects, mainly in the Benelux countries, ensuring safe, on-time, on-budget and high-quality execution.
~40% Strategic Project Leadership: driving continuous business improvement projects across countries in Central and Northern Europe, with focus on operational excellence, process harmonization, performance improvement and scalable best practices.
In this role, you will work across functions, countries, and stakeholders, balancing customer delivery excellence with internal transformation. You will be a key contributor to project success, customer satisfaction, and business performance.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Operational Customer Project Management (approx. 60%) 
    Take full ownership of assigned GIS customer projects, primarily in the Benelux region, from project handover through execution to closure. 
    Ensure successful project delivery in line with scope, schedule, budget, quality, and cash targets. 
    Act as the main point of contact for customers during project execution and build strong, trust-based customer relationships. 
    Lead cross-functional project teams including engineering, sourcing, manufacturing, logistics, site teams, finance, and commercial functions. 
    Manage project planning, milestone tracking, forecasting, reporting, and governance in accordance with company processes and standards. 
    Identify, assess, and proactively manage project risks and opportunities, including technical, commercial, contractual, and operational aspects. 
    Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to secure smooth execution and timely issue resolution. 
    Drive claim management, change management, and contract execution in close alignment with commercial and legal teams where required. 
    Ensure robust EHS and quality standards are embedded throughout project execution. 
    Support a strong culture of accountability, collaboration, customer focus, and execution excellence. 
  • Strategic Business Improvement Projects (approx. 40%) 
    Lead and support strategic improvement initiatives across Central and Northern Europe, focused on continuous business improvement and operational excellence. 
    Identify improvement opportunities across project execution, processes, governance, tools, interfaces, and ways of working. 
    Drive cross-country and cross-functional projects to improve efficiency, standardization, predictability, and business performance. 
    Facilitate implementation of best practices and lessons learned across teams and geographies. 
    Support simplification, harmonization, and optimization of project management processes and operational routines. 
    Use data and performance indicators to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for sustainable improvement. 
    Engage stakeholders at different organizational levels to align priorities, build buy-in, and ensure successful implementation of change. 
    Contribute to strategic planning and transformation initiatives within the regional project and operations organization. 
    Promote a culture of continuous improvement, Lean thinking, and operational discipline. 

Requirements

  • Experience in GIS projects and/or high-voltage grid solutions. 
  • Familiarity with Lean, continuous improvement methodologies or operational excellence frameworks. 
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to motivate teams and navigate complex stakeholder environments. 
  • Comfortable working in an international, fast-paced, and evolving business environment. 
  • High level of ownership, resilience, and accountability. 
  • Passion for customer success and continuous improvement. .

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree with relevant experience with Project Management Qualifications. Experience in team management and proven ability to lead and manage projects. Knowledge of Power Transmission Portfolio such as Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS), Air Insulated Switchgear (AIS), Power Transformers, Protection Relays and Substation System will be an advantage. Knowledge of MS Office, Smartsheet, SAP and Microsoft Projects, Salesforce
