Resource Innovations is seeking a Senior Strategic Human Resources Business Partner - Commercial Operations to join our growing team. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Strategic HR Business Partner Senior Manager with a strong background in HR Business Partnering to join our dynamic team. 

As a Senior Strategic Human Resources Business Partner, you will play a key leadership role that acts as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to the commercial business, including sales, marketing, advisory services and go-to-market teams. This role is responsible for aligning business objectives with people strategies, driving organizational effectiveness, and providing proactive HR support to senior commercial leaders. The HRBP will play a pivotal role in workforce planning, talent management, organizational development, and change leadership to help drive growth and performance across the commercial organization. Position reports to the Chief Human Resources Officer.

Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Business Partnership

  • Serve as the primary HR strategic partner to commercial leadership (Sales, Marketing, Business Development, Advisory Services) to support business growth, sales performance, and market expansion strategies.
  • Translate business strategies into actionable people strategies, ensuring alignment with overall company values and goals.
  • Collaborate closely with senior sales leaders to drive strategic initiatives including salesforce effectiveness, go-to-market capability building, and sales incentive planning.

Talent Strategy & Workforce Planning

  • Provide expert guidance on talent planning, succession strategies, and workforce optimization to ensure the commercial teams are resourced for future growth.
  • Support strategic hiring plans in collaboration with Talent Acquisition to attract and retain top sales and marketing talent.
  • Leverage workforce analytics to drive informed decisions on talent deployment and capability development.

Organizational Design & Effectiveness

  • Partner with commercial leadership to drive organizational design efforts, including team structure, role clarity, and reporting alignment.
  • Drive initiatives that support team effectiveness, cross-functional collaboration, and commercial agility.
  • Consult on sales performance metrics and organizational health indicators to support scalable growth.

Change Management & Culture

  • Lead and support organizational change efforts, including business transformation, restructuring, and new operating models.
  • Drive culture initiatives that promote a high-performance, inclusive, and engaged workforce, especially in sales-facing roles.
  • Facilitate team effectiveness, engagement sessions, and offsites for commercial teams.

Leadership Coaching & Development

  • Provide coaching and development support to senior commercial leaders and frontline sales managers.
  • Partner with L&D and Talent teams to identify and implement leadership development programs tailored for the commercial organization.
  • Foster a continuous learning environment that supports capability building in sales, marketing, and commercial enablement.

Performance & Rewards

  • Support the performance management cycle, including goal setting, performance calibration, and development planning.
  • Advise sales leadership on performance improvement plans and development strategies.
  • Partner with Total Rewards to align compensation and incentive programs with sales performance metrics and market competitiveness.

Employee Relations & Compliance

  • Manage and resolve a variety of employee relations (ER) matters within the commercial organization, including performance issues, behavioral concerns, and policy violations.
  • Lead complex ER investigations in collaboration with Legal, ensuring fair, thorough, and timely resolution.
  • Conduct interviews, gather evidence, and document findings while maintaining confidentiality, consistency, and adherence to internal protocols.
  • Provide expert guidance to commercial leaders on corrective actions, disciplinary processes, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain and track ER case data and trends, identifying root causes and recommending preventative strategies to reduce risk and support a healthy workplace culture.
  • Ensure consistent application of policies and practices across commercial teams, with an emphasis on fairness, objectivity, and business alignment.

Requirements
  • A bachelor’s degree and/or master’s degree in human resources, MBA, or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive HR experience in a strategic HRBP role
  • Experience supporting sales and commercial leadership teams, preferably in energy efficiency, sustainability or SaaS environments
  • Deep understanding of sales compensation structures, incentive programs, and performance frameworks.
  • Familiarity with modern HR systems (e.g., Workday/Oracle, ServiceNow)
  • Demonstrated success in supporting organizations through rapid growth, transformation, or M&A integration.
  • Deep knowledge of core HR disciplines including talent management, organizational effectiveness, employee relations, and rewards
  • Interest in sustainability and passionate about making a meaningful impact on the environment.

Preferred skills, education and experience

  • Certification in HR (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) or Organizational Development.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret HR metrics and provide actionable insights.
  • Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional change and culture initiatives.

Compensation & Benefits

Resource Innovations offers competitive salaries based on a candidate's skills, experience and qualifications for the position.  The compensation range for the base salary for this position is $130,000 - $160,000.  In addition to base pay, employees are eligible for a discretionary annual bonus.  The stated salary represents the expected compensation for this position.  Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as the candidate's experience, education and location. 

We also offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes three weeks of paid vacation per year; paid holidays; a 401(k)-retirement plan with employer matching; health, dental and vision insurance; and other supplemental benefits. 

Employment with Resource Innovations is contingent upon the successful completion of a comprehensive background check and reference check. If applicable to the position, a pre-employment drug screen may also be required.
