Abnormal is growing fast, and the way we show up in the world has to keep pace. Our events are where our story becomes an experience—bringing customers, prospects, partners, and security leaders closer to our brand, our products, and our people.
Our owned events give us the opportunity to set the agenda and create experiences that bring Abnormal’s story to life. Our executive programs create space for the world’s most influential security leaders to engage directly with our leadership, our product, and one another. And at key third-party events, we meet the security community on its own turf—turning moments of engagement into meaningful relationships.
As Senior Strategic Events Manager, you’ll play a leading role in bringing these experiences to life, with a primary focus on Abnormal’s owned, executive, and internal events, while also supporting select high-impact third-party programs.
You’ll own end-to-end delivery across a diverse portfolio—from summits, roadshows, customer programs, and executive experiences to internal events and major industry moments. You’ll translate our broader event strategy into exceptional programs: shaping agendas and experiences, managing budgets and vendors, coordinating cross-functional teams, and leading execution on the ground to ensure every detail lands.
This is a hands-on IC role for someone who thinks like a strategist and executes like an owner. You'll have a portfolio, a budget, a set of very high standards, and the autonomy to go build. As Abnormal’s event portfolio continues to grow, so will the scope of this role—with a clear path toward greater strategic ownership of our owned, executive, and internal event portfolio.
What You'll OwnFirst-Party & Third-Party Events- Lead end-to-end planning and execution of some of Abnormal's key strategic events — from strategy and budget through delivery, measurement, and post-event analysis.
- Own every component that makes an owned event work: venue and vendor selection, production, registration and attendee journey, hospitality, staffing, technology, and on-site operations — partnering with Brand Creative, Content, and Comms on creative, branding, and agenda.
- Build the run-of-show, the project plan, the timeline, and the contingency plan — then run the room.
- Partner with Sales, Strategic Alliances, Campaigns, Field Marketing, Product Marketing, and others to make sure every event is engineered for pipeline and customer engagement, not just attendance.
- Manage budgets, contracts, POs, and vendor deliverables with real rigor. Know where every dollar went and what it returned.
- Develop repeatable playbooks, templates, and standards so the portfolio scales without losing quality.
- Act as the event's point of contact for your programs — the person stakeholders trust to have it handled.
- Anticipate risk, escalate early and appropriately, and keep programs on track when priorities shift. They will shift.
- Design and deliver premium executive programs: advisory boards, curated hospitality, and the executive tracks inside our larger events.
- Bring hospitality-grade instincts to a B2B environment — anticipatory, service-minded, and unwilling to let a detail slide — paired with the resourcefulness to build it yourself when there's no playbook yet.
- Make sure every touchpoint in the executive journey is intentional, frictionless, and elevated. From the invitation to the follow-up.
- Collaborate with our executive team, internal SMEs, and Product Marketing to build agendas and content that give C-level audiences genuine insight, not a product demo in a nicer room.
- Coordinate executive and VIP participation end to end — briefing materials, prep, on-site handling, and thoughtful follow-through.
- Represent Abnormal directly to senior customer executives and their teams with professionalism, situational awareness, and a premium service mindset. You are an ambassador of this brand at the highest levels.
- Co-own the planning and delivery of Abnormal's largest internal moments — Sales Kickoff and President’s Club.
- Partner with Sales, Revenue Marketing, and People to define objectives, build the agenda, and manage production, venue, travel, and on-site operations.
- Treat our own people with the same experience standard we give customers. The internal moments are where culture gets made, and they deserve the same craft as the external ones.
- Define and track KPIs for every program: attendance, engagement, meetings, pipeline influence, customer participation, and ROI.
- Deliver post-event reporting with real recommendations — what we repeat, what we kill, what we invest more in.
- Use data and stakeholder feedback to continuously sharpen strategy, investment, and execution.
- Keep event documentation and reporting accurate and accessible across the portfolio.
- 7+ years in strategic events, executive programs, or field marketing — including direct experience owning executive-level programs. Ideally in B2B technology, cybersecurity, SaaS, or another high-growth environment.
- Proven ownership of complex, high-visibility owned events and executive programs from strategy through execution and analysis.
- A premium experience mindset. You're obsessive about details, operationally excellent, and you build moments that people remember.
- Strong program management chops: organized, proactive, structured, relentless about deadlines, and genuinely good at driving cross-functional work to an outcome.
- Experience delivering large internal events such as Sales Kickoff, sales incentive or club trips, or company offsites.
- Real budget, vendor, agency, and contract management experience across multiple concurrent workstreams.
- Exceptional communication skills — polished agendas, briefing docs, and executive-facing comms that need no cleanup.
- Executive maturity. You're comfortable and credible in a room full of senior leaders, internal or customer-side.
- Composure under pressure. You can build the plan months out and solve the unexpected problem on-site in four minutes.
- Commercially minded. You understand how events drive brand, customer relationships, and pipeline — and you make decisions accordingly.
- Demonstrated use of AI to improve how you work: streamlining workflows, sharpening decisions, and creating leverage. We're an AI-native company and we expect our team to work like one.
- Willingness to travel roughly 25%, primarily in North America.
Cybersecurity experience is a plus, not a requirement. What matters is executive acumen, judgment, attention to detail, and exceptional execution.

What We Do
The Abnormal Security platform protects enterprises from targeted email attacks. Abnormal Behavior Technology (ABX) models the identity of both employees and external senders, profiles relationships and analyzes email content to stop attacks that lead to account takeover, financial damage and organizational mistrust. Though one-click, API-based Office 365 and G Suite integration, Abnormal sets up in minutes and does not disrupt email flow. Abnormal Security was founded in 2018 by CEO Evan Reiser, CTO Sanjay Jeyakumar, Head of Machine Learning Jeshua Bratman, and Founding Engineers Abhijit Bagri and Dmitry Chechik. The team previously built behavioral profiling and machine learning technologies at Twitter, Google and Pinterest that are being applied to solve a problem that costs organizations $1 billion per year, according to the FBI. The Abnormal Security platform stops targeted phishing, business email compromise and account takeover attacks that have never been seen before.
